As of November 29th of 2015, China has ended it's One child policy and has increased that number to two children per family.
China has had the one child policy since the late 1970s as an attempt to decrease in the growth of the population but also to help as a popularity factor with other countries around the globe. Since they had this policy of only one child per family the population growth has gone quite a bit, but their are many more orphans because of this. Since their can only be one child many families would want a son rather than a daughter so if they didn't get a son they would put the daughter up for adoption and try for a son again.
Questions:
1. Do you think this will impact china in a positive way? Why or why not?
2. Should they have kept the one child policy longer until their population growth decreased enough? Why or why not?

Well done! Great topic choice! Don't just copy/paste some of your comments. Make each one a little unique.
I definitely see where you're coming from. And I agree they shouldn't have to do this they need to do something else about this.
I think that this is good. Now girls and boys can grow up with a good family instead of being but in the adoption system.
First of all, they shouldn't even have a one child policy. With the two children per family policy, there will be less kids orphaned, but China is already a very populated area.

I think it could go both ways, but this law is very stupid. The government should not be controlling the number of kids a family can have. No I think they need to get rid of the law all together, and let people do what they want.

I think this policy is absolutely ridiculous. I think people should be able to have as many kids as they want. Americans can have as many as they like and we don't have a problem.

The one child policy allows families to try for a son and if they have a daughter they can try again for the son without having to get rid of the daughter, however if they have another daughter they cannot try again. The removal of the one child policy is interesting because Chinese families can now have 3 or 4 children. It will be interesting to see if they go back to having large families like they once had or if they will keep their families small because that is what they are now used to.
