So we all have heard about the 33 miners that we trapped in a chillean cave after a collapse. Initial rescue efforts showed them all to be uninjured, but rescue efforts estimated that they would be reached and rescued some time in december. Starting yesterday they sent an elevator down the shaft they had drilled and began pulling the miners out of the mine. By this morning at 7:00 they had 9 miners out and the 10th on their way up. I takes the elevator somewhere around 25 minutes to reach the miners and then about 15 to raise them back up to the surface. This news and the rescue, two months earlier than thought, has brought many tears of joy to the families and friends of the miners. Here is the link to the article.
