Chicago, mainly the South side has a reputation as one of the most dangerous cities in America. In 2016 alone there was 762 murders, 3,550 shooting incidents and 4,331 shooting victims, that on average means about 12 people are shot every single day. It even had more murders than New York and Los Angles combined in 2015. The South side has gotten the notorious nickname of Chiraq because as of late 2016 it has surpassed the deaths in the Iraq and Afghanistan war. It is such an issue that Trump has even threatened to "send in the feds!" if the mayor can't find a soultion to the high crime rate.
1.What could be some possible solutions to help lower the crime rate without having to send in the feds?
2.If you were to visit Chicago would you even dare go through the South side?

I think allowing the police to do their job, and helping the police to get better equiped to take care of the crime rate will assist in lowering the crime rate. If I visited Chicago, I would be very hesitant about traveling to the South side knowing how dangerous it is. I don't think I'd go there.
1)I think just making people move out at that point would work and have cameras setup around there along with patrol cars and cops all over and if it is still bad just make people leave.
2) No, I wouldn't because I would be visiting so I wouldn't dare risk my life to go to a part of Chicago that doesn't even matter.
1. People stop doing stupid things and maybe restrict gun buying to prevent people use them.
2. Maybe not if it the part that is danger to people at night.
Increasing police presence in the areas that are the most dangerous in the South Side to possibly get rid of some of the crime in those areas and make the punishments more severe for criminals that are convicted, especially if they are repeat offenders. If I were to visit Chicago I would probably try my best to avoid it and if I had to go through it I would make it a fast trip.
1. Increasing the police in the area so more people get caught. Try to catch the killers or drug dealers so that the crime rate can go down.
2. I would go to visit but I would NOT stay for a long time because I don't want to get shot at or killed.
I think increasing the police so they can catch more drug dealers and catch the bad guys. Opening more schools and more strict each school would make people want to get an education. I would never go to the South side because I would be scared something would happen to me.
Get a new gun law for Chicago and have a higher safety with guns since their rate is so high. If I went to Chicago I wouldn't "avoid" the South side, I would pay extra attention to my surroundings, but I would probably visit the South side.
1. The government could try to find a new gun law for Chicago that is more specific in wwho and how you can get guns. If the Chicago Southside is kind of a rundown city, than the mayor or even organizations could start fundraising campaigns to help those people.
2. Now that I now about it, I probably won"t go there.
I actually think sending in the feds is a great idea. I would be smart and avoid the south side but I wouldn't be run by fear.
