Cheerleader Forced into the Splits

Story

In Denver, Colorado there are eight known videos shown of cheerleaders being forced into doing the splits. The cheerleaders were held down my other cheerleaders and the coach. In the video it showed a student screaming in pain and asking them to stop but they refused to. One of the kids in the video got a leg injury from being forced and pushed into the splits. The coach was put on leave and the school is currently under investigation. 

Questions

1. How would you feel if your child were of of the kids to be forced into this?

2. What do you think should happen to the teacher? 

My Answers

1. I feel that if my child were to be in this position I would be pressing charges against the coach for abuse and against the school for neglect. 

2. i believe that the coach should be stripped and banned from teaching due to failure of teaching in the correct manor. I believe that charges should be pressed against the coach for each student that had to go through the pain.

i would be furious and would call for the coaches' immediate resignation or lay off.  

I feel the coach should lose his job and have charges pressed against him. I also believe he should not be allowed to coach anywhere else either.

If this were my child, I would press charges against the coach for sure. I would be distraught if my child would have gotten an injury from the pure carelessness of the school, the other students, and the coach. I believe the coach should be fired effective- immediately, and should be pressed for charges by the parents of those girls.

I would take them out of cheer-leading and sue the school. I think the coach should be fired and has his coaching license revoked.

I would be very angry and furious that someone could not just force them to do the splits, but also have their classmates take part in hurting one another. I think this teacher should be fired for sure and charges should definitely be pressed.

i would be so furious if my child was force into the splits. I would sue the teacher and i would talk to the moms of all the girls and tell them how not to listen to everything and sometimes stand up to stuff like this and not hurt their classmate. like how could they live with themselves ripping girls muscles and stuff like that to please the teacher? i think the teacher should go to prison for life. i think that this is unexceptionable like this this is crazy that he would do that so the girls can do the splits. it takes time for the muscles to stretch that far to do the splits

If it were my kid I would hunt down the coach and beat the snot out of him, I'd be arrested but it would be worth it because you cant just force a child to do something they cannot physically do. it takes practice and gymnastics and if they still cant do it, DO NOT FORCE THEM TO! It can result in injury as the story said and possible mental trauma.

I feel like they should be fired and have their teaching license revoked. They should never work with children again, in my opinion. Children are not toys and they don't exist just because you think they should and even then, they have rights.

Well i think she should be forced to do the splits, she signed up for cheer leading, but they didn't have to have a bunch of people push her down to the ground to do it. But I would be a little mad that people were grabbing my child's legs and pushing them down. I wouldn't care if the teacher still worked there, he just doesn't need to be so forceful.

As someone who has had to have their splits down, I'm aware of how much it hurts to force yourself down. If  my own kid were forced into the splits like this, I would immediately call the school and try to have the teacher fired. As for the other students, they should know the pain too. Why would they help the teacher? If I was in this situation, I wouldn't do it, especially since the girl was screaming in pain. The teacher should be fired.

I don't think it is neglect, but I do agree that it is wrong. I wouldn't make my child stop cheer leading if that is what they want to do, but hopefully there would be a new coach. I think that the coach should be let go due to their actions. I think that by now, the coach should know what a member of the team can, and can not do.
