Capitalism is based on free market demand, in more simple words the producer tries to please the consumer as much as possible. In capitalism you decide what you need and what you don't. Every product on the market today in America represents something that a producer thought you wanted or needed. Capitalism encourages people to improve their products in the cheapest way possible. Every year big chains spend millions of dollars trying to decipher what the consumer wants, if a customer doesn't like something they would change it because if they didn't their competitors would get the upper hand. This creates a competition aspect which keeps the prices low and the quality high. This can also open the doors for monopolies which can lead to higher prices for common daily products. In capitalism you have the ultimate power because every dollar you spend is like a vote towards the products that should remain on the market. Socialism on the other hand the government has the ultimate power. So instead of millions of individuals deciding, a few government elites decide what the people should have and how much they should pay for it. Socialism can drive a country to its knees. Venezuela is a clear example of this. At the beginning everyone praised Venezuela, but once they saw what happened they turned their backs on the country. It is commonly believed that European countries are more inclined towards socialist economies having free healthcare, free college, etc. Which is true to a certain degree, yet for this to happen the people have to pay around 40% or more in taxes for every paycheck they recieve. Americans set their pride on being a capitalist country, yet America is not even in the top 10 capitalist countries. Now I'm not saying this is a bad thing because after all our economy continues to flourish even though we are partly a socialist country.
What do you think is best Capitalism or Socialism?
I believe that capitalism is the best option. Capitalism pushes individuals to create top quality products aimed towards pleasing us and gives the producer more incentive to keep creating this. Now I don’t hate socialism. I actually believe that it is great that we have socialist programs, but I wouldn’t want the whole country having a socialist based economy.
Should we have programs like free health care for all, and free college or should we remain to be a mostly capitalist country?

Good story choice Paola! Be sure to break you long paragraph up to make it easier to read. Also be sure to reply to everyone with only one page of comments.
I haven't done a whole lot of research on socialism (although I've been meaning to for a while) however, I know through discourse between actual socialist that the definition you gave isn't exactly true. Socialism actually has very little to do with the government and more to do with the people. Socialism is when the workers own the means of production. I haven't fully researched capitalism and socialism, so I can't give a concrete answer to my opinions on both. I agree with free health care and college if implemented in a practical way.
I think capitalism is better. It encourages everyone to work hard because the harder they work, the better the reward. It also allows you to chase any goal you care to. Although, I do think we should invest some more funds into poverty, healthcare, and college. Not make it free, but just make things a little easier for those who struggle. Plus, their costs are outrageous. Even those who are financially stable can have end up in financial ruin because of the costs. Maybe this would mean raising taxes just a little, but not hugely (something like from 7%-10%). It's only right for people to pay for their college and healthcare because that's how the system works, but cutting the taxes a little bit and having a little less money because of higher taxes, I think could be worth it in the end.
I believe capitalism is much better because it allows for us to think for oursleves. Though there are some flaws and things that coud be fixed, not everything is perfect that is why we have a little bit of socialism in our country as well. I would love to have free health care and free college, but the process in which it would take for all those programs to be completly free woud take many years. It wouldn't just happen over night. Also with higher taxes means less money in my pocket.
Personally, I think that it is best to have a Capitalist society because then everybody has to work hard for what they want to achieve. However, there are good things about socialism, like the fact that poverty would not be such a major issue because funds would be provided for everyone by the government. But, I think that we should remain a mostly capitalist country.
I agree with you a Capitalist society has worked for many years and altough it has a few major problems it is still the best option in my opinion. And same thing with socialism the idea has a few good things, but a society completly driven by socialism has always failed.
I think that capitalism is the better way with capitalism you have to work for what you want. With socialism everyone one gets the same thing no matter if they work or not. If the United States went full socialist the economy would collapse. I don't think that we should have free health care or collage because then we will have a much higher tax rate.
Yes capitalism is a better option that is for sure. It would be great to have free health care and free college without tax rates going up. Altough that is not possible but if we could aument taxes a bit and create free healthcare and free college or at least reduce them a little it would be great.
