Andrew Finch was shot and killed by police officer because of a prank call from California. Tyler Barriss was the man who prank called the police and had Finch swatted and killed. Tyler told the police that there was shooting and kidnapping happening in the household. Finches mom is now pressing charges on the police officer who pulled the trigger on her son. Plus Tyler also told the Police that he had dumped gasoline all inside the house. Also, told them that he had shot the father in the head and had the mother and siblings at gunpoint.

I think so, because that officer was the only one who grabbed his gun and shot. But that was also not his fault cause the prankster told them that he had a gun also.

If he could see the man and what he was doing, there was no reason for the officer to shoot. I'm not sure if Mrs.Finch should be pressing charges or not. To know for sure if the decision to press charges on the the police officer was a good one, I would need more facts on the case. Things such as, was Andrew resisting or was he by any means threatening should be considered before pressing charges on the police officer. If the officer shot Andrew on impulse while Andrew was unarmed and unresistant, I do believe Mrs. Finch should press charges. Though, if Mrs. Finch was going to press charges on anyone, it should be the prank caller, Tyler Bariss, for falsely reporting an incident and creating a panic.
No, I do not think that the blame should be set on the police officer for it is not his fault but it is the fault of the person that called emergency contact. The officer was just there to do his job and he did it. The man that made the prank call should be the one responsible. I do think that Tyler should be charged with murder.
