USH Students-You can create this video as a video documentary which is worth up to 25 extra credit points. You can work individually or with up to two other people. Deadline will be December 14 if you want extra credit, otherwise January 18, 2013 if you only care about the $$$$$.

StudentCam 2013

C-SPAN is pleased to announce the 2013 StudentCam documentary competition for students in grades 6-12.

This year's theme "Message to the President," asks students to create a five to eight minute video documentary explaining which issue they believe the president should address in 2013, and why the issue is important to them.

C-SPAN will award 75 documentaries with cash prizes totaling $50,000. The Grand Prize winner with the best overall entry will be awarded $5,000, and additional prizes of $250, $500, $750, $1,500, and $3,000 will be awarded to students in both the middle and high school categories.

Students in grades 6-8 will compete in the Middle School category, and students in grades 9-12 will compete in the High School category. Students may compete individually, or in teams of either 2 or 3 members.
