A snowstorm had canceled classes in the Pascack Valley Regional High School District in northern New Jersey. But the students didn't have to worry because they had the ability to get all of the class work online. Many schools are converting to using technology in the classrooms which makes it easier for things like this to happen. I think that it would be a good idea to do this in more places because if people are sick or absent they don't fall behind. The downsides would be that people wouldn't participate in it or there could be technology issues that would cause for students to have problems.
Would you be willing to try this in our school district? Why or why not? Do you think it would work?

Great topic but be sure to reply more frequently.
Yes I would be willing to try, I think it would be helpful to kids who participate in this. It would be nice to have online classes because you can be more independent with your work and have all you need to know right on your computer.
I guess I would be willing to but I wouldn't like it. I feel like its just the way it goes and if your sick its the way life goes. I feel like life is not all about technology.
I think this would be a good idea for us to try. One thing that would be hard about it was you wouldn't be able to interact with other students or difficulties with technology might occur.
I think it still has a lot of kinks but I wouldn't mind trying it. As long as we don't spend a whole day staring at a computer screen. My only thing is what about pe and sports. No one would want to drive all the way into town for an hour and that's it... Just some things they should think about first.
I can see how it would be a good use of the computers already provided for us by the school. However I agree that it would be something that would be very difficult to integrate into our school district.
I think that we should definitely implement more online class-work because we already have the technology to do this and for people who are sick would be able to stay caught up. HCSD has already dove head-in first to technology, so why not try online classes? I think we should try.
I believe that this may be a good idea for our school district because as many snow days that we have every year, it would be nice to get our work done and not fall behind and have to make up school days at the end of the year. But then there is the idea that people would have technology problems and not be able to participate. Then there could be the issue that people wouldn't want to participate so I believe that it wouldn't work in our school because of these issues.
I agree with you guys that its something that maybe should be looked into. I also agree that it would have its problems such as the lack of people logging on and the Internet issues.
I think trying this is our district would be a good idea but that would cause a lot of people to get mad because students like to have snow days because it is like a little break. I don't know how they could do this due to possible internet problems and people just simply not caring.
