Bullying In Message Board Posts.

As you all know, bullying is a problem in every school. There are many forms of bullying. Its not just physhical.. It was brought to my attention today, by Mr. Bruns, that people are starting to bully on message board posts! You could get in trouble for that, you know. Everyone can see your name. What do you guys think about this??

people put down on each other whether its a history related topic or not. even if they dont say anything towards somebody else. like on the 100 texts per day post? there are some unnecissary comments on there that people came up with to be stupid.

Bullying does hurt, but some people want to get bullied, for attention. For example, my metals class. There are two students that pick on one person, but that one person starts it first generally all the time. But for the most part, seriously just get over it, Its not worth taking your life all over some rumor, or someone finds out what goes on in ur personal life, and makes fun of you for it. Take it as a challenge, and show the people that are bullying that you are tougher and have more self confidence than they thought!

well if people are putting up message board post telling people to respect them then obviously people are going to say negative things. if its something that means a lot to you or can hit you emotionally, i suggest not posting it. keep it something related to history (current events) or just something people will enjoy. people dont think about the discussions they start and dont realize that not everyone is going to have the same opinion as them.

Well put Brian. I used to get bullied a lot in school when I was younger. Howevr there is a a provn formula for bullying. Just ignore it, grow up and act respectable in the face of advrsity and bullying. People who bully can't astand that and they will generally quit.

this is a very touching post and everyone should take a minute to read all the responses. . . because bullying does happen in this school and posts like this can help people realize we need to stop

people do make a lot of rude, unneeded remarks on here. and its dumb. if you have a problem with somebody talk to them about it, dont publicly announce tthinsg on here. especially when theres really nothing said about wht the post is even about..

i think its hard to say what you mean on the internet sometimes without it maybe being bullying. but you should just be careful what you say.

I think there are some very nice, respectable people in this school...but also a lot of hate, even among those that may be considered by teachers and the community as upstanding students. That people are being bullied, I cannot say that I'm suprised. Its unfortunate but, at this point, generally speaking, I'm not sure there is much that can be done. I've seen some incredibly sadistic acts of harrassment this year. But do you know whats worse? Its socially acceptable. Its veiwed as OKAY to pick a target, and attack their insecurites. Its all in good fun isn't it? They'll get over it, won't they? Well one can hope...but I've gained FAR TOO MANY suicidal friends this year because of the acts of cruelty perpetrated. Maybe if some one did harm themselves, god forbid that some one die, maybe people would actually GET IT. But the sad thing is...they won't. The majority of people will just walk away and laugh about it. I fear for our unfeeling generation.
