The brain eating amoeba Naegleria fowleri has found its way into the water supply of a community near New Orleans, sending the residents and officials into a hunt for the source. The experts say the only danger is getting the effected water up your nose, as its only entry is through tiny holes in a bone near eye level. There have been 132 documented infections since 1962, most turning out to be fatal. Both of 2011's cases came from the people using the tap water to flush their sinus. In those cases, the amoeba was found in the hot water system, not the cold water system or municipal water supply. Still, the community is scared and are doing whatever they can to avoid doing anything involving tap water and their faces. What is your opinion on this, would you be as worried these folks, and what would you do in this situation.

Be sure to include your thoughts as well in the summary.
I think that this would scare me as a resident. As long as people in the area are aware of the problem they shouldn't have an issue staying safe. I think that finding another source of water may become an issue if it get to serious.
I would be careful about how I use tap water which would probably not be often because I would be scared to use it and I would get a lot of bottled water so I could avoid using tap water.
The only problem with the only using bottled water idea is that bottled water costs a fair amount per case, unless it's on sale.
I would be worried if this was me because water is a big part of your life. You dont realize how much you use it till you cant use it anymore. Thats weird its only in the hot water and not in the cold water.
Well, the Amoeba could have a high heat tolerance, but not able to survive the temperature of the cold water, which is weird because most organisms can survive in cold better than in extreme heat
This is really unfortunate because its really an inconvenience to not have tap water near your face because you use it everyday but I don't know what else they can do besides be cautious
I think I would be paranoid too, if there was a brain eating amoeba in our water system. I would be scared that I would get infected or that my family would be infected. I understand why they are going to great lengths such as not using the tap water to wash their faces or emptying their pool, it is because they are trying to protect themselves against something they can't see.
I am worried for these people. If it were me I would be scared of what could happen. I would probably move somewhere else, and not risk anything.
I would be extremely worried. I would not be using tap water for anything, I would buy a lot of bottled water. Also I would be very careful about my use of the tap water.
