On July 17, 2012 the BSA, Boy Scouts of America, reaffirmed their policy on not allowing gays in the Boy Scouts. This decision was made by a special committee in the BSA. Zach Wahls disagreed and said, “Why not put out a call and make it a democratic process?” Watch the attached video of Zach Wahls and listen to his logic. His parent are gay and he has turned out better than fine.
I personally think that it should be a vote that is up to the Scouts because the BSA is a youth led organization.
What are your comments on the matter?

I totally agree that it should be up to the other scouts to vote. I don't think that it would be all that important so many. I mean after all, the majority of Boy Scouts are younger anyways, right? I think that as long as your happy, everyone should be. He was young, and most young boys don't know what they want, and if he does, than praise him. I think as long as yourself, you should be able to join a group that you so choose. Todays society.. Horrid.
I personally think this is very wrong of them... discriminating against gay people is wrong on SO many levels. First off if they are there is nothing you or anyone else can do to change that, so just accept them as they are. Second of all the boy scouts should be the ones voting over the issue not the "special committee".
It should absolutely be up to the boy scouts to decide a rule like that. Since it affects who can join, those who are members should be the ones deciding it.
It's clearly up to the boy scouts. Since they are still young I don't think there would be that many kids who are so I don't see why they are making it into the problem it is. It's sad that in today's nation we fight about gay rights like back in the 1900's about african american's. I personaly don't agree with gay people mostly because of my religion but honesly we should be able to tolerate them and respect them for who they are.
This is America, if the organization wants to ban gays, then so be it!
i think that this is outrageous just because someone is homosexual you should not be counted out. i feel it should be the same rule for in the army: "Don't Ask Don't Tell" which i think would be a very good thing to do and have it strictly enforced.
I agree with Paul. The Boy Scouts of America is a youth lead. I am a member of the Boy Scouts and i belive that there would be no problem with a vote by the scouts.
I think its stupid because it doesn't matter if your gay or not. They are same as everyone else except what type of person they like. That's like saying oh your Muslim you cant be near New York because of what your kind as done. This is supposed to be a country that everyone is free and able to believe whatever you want.
No matter what they do or dont allow people are going to disagree with the decision. I think that the people in charge should make decide whether to make the change or not.
Because it is a youth organization, I can understand that policy. Kids could be left out if they are gay, but that seems to be uncommon in young kids. I think the Boy Scout's should vote on it. They should see what everyone's opinion is.
