In a New Jersey boy attending a history class at County College of Morris was asked by his teacher through e-mail to not talk or try to ask questions during class because he had a stutter problem. He had participated in discussions and was active in his classes the first couple days until he recived the e-mail. After trying to ask a question during class his teacher told him that it is "disruptive to the other students learning." His teacher suggested that he write down his questions on a piece of paper and not ask until after class or before class. How rude is that, to single him out for something that isn't his fault and something he could already be self-conscious about? He's a 16 year old boy. There are enough things kids have to go through at that age besides not being aloud to talk because of that.Thoughts?http://www.nytimes.com/2011/10/11/education/11stutter.html?_r=1&ref=todayspaper

  • that is wrongful prejudice and the teacher has no right to be that mean. that teacher should not be in the educational field if they are not going to be supportive of all of their students.

  • That is terrible.  If I was the student, I would tell someone and get this problm fixed.  I can see if he was being annoying, but he can't help the way he talks.

  • that is kind of idiotic to me

the teacher is possibly destroy the kids education and makeing him feel wore about is stutter problen than he might already

yiou should just toleated the problem so he will continue to learn

  • Thats crazzyy, its not his fault that he has a stuttering problem. The teacher should not have said anything, let him talk, everybody's different. I pryy would still talk too, I wouldnt be able to sit quiet the whole class period! Anywayys thats nuts.

  • I think that teacher should be fired. That's so mean. That's like saying oh well you have glasses, so you can't come in my classroom. It's stupid, right? Yes. So seriously. Why are people so mean these days? :(

  • Thats really stupid. I agree, you shouldn't single him out and tell himnot to talk just because he has a problem that he can't control.

  • thats dumb. not right. teacher should get in trouble or something. Id be mad.

  • This is not fair, the teacher should get fired!
