The Black Hawk County sheriff's office says hunters found two bodies Wednesday afternoon near Meyers Lake. The bodies have been sent to the state crime lab for identification, but late Wednesday afternoon the police chief said he believes the bodies are those of Lyric Cook and Elizabeth Collins.
The young cousins went missing on Friday, July 13th. Their bikes were found near the lake.
The sheriff's office says parents of the girls have been notified; they request privacy right now. A sheriff's captain did not make any other comments, but said this was not the outcome they'd hoped for. He did say he'll update the media again tomorrow afternoon at 4 p.m.

This is so sad that they found that's who it was. Its so sad for the families to know that. I really hope they find out somehow who took them.
its just sick what humans do to other people. i can't believe that someone could actually go through and kill these 2 innocent little girls. my thoughts and prayers go out to the families effected by this tragedy.
This is horrible, but it makes me think that it was someone they knew, because kidnapping not one but two people seems like a pretty rare occasion.
This is so sad, from what I remember, they were rather young. Prayers going out to the family's.
oh my gosh, this is terrible i hope they catch whoever did this because this is terrible!!
This is very horrible they had been missing for a long time to bad they had to find them this way.
This is very sad and i hope its not the missing girls. That would be very tragic if that were to turn out to be them because they have a lot of loved ones that would care very badly if they were to be dead.
Aww I hope the family is okay I feel bad! I wonder how it happened.
This is really sad. Too bad this happened to them. Hopefully they find who did this to them.
I remember hearing about this case when it first came out in July, and i just thought about how horrible that is. I would see there pictures on posters everywhere, in gas stations and things like that. This is very sad, and im sure there families are very sad, but glad to know instead of them wondering all the time.
