The more exposure the more risk of cancer. Exposure to the blue outside LED lights, tablets, and smartphones can lead to cancer as the new studies suggest. When exposed to a high level of outside blue light had a higher chance of breast and prostate cancer. But as shockingly enough the artificial light indoors had a high risk than the outside lights. Scientist have used satellites to really see how much light the LEDs are putting out and how harmful they can be. Various colors can cause different types of cancer. Blue light is the most powerful light in the light spectrum and known to decrease the release of melatonin in the brain. Which can mess up the body’s biological alarm clock which can lead to restless nights of sleep. Not all the LEDs outside have them, and the test have only been done on the street LEDs and not the effects of blue lights in smartphones and tablets. You can order things to help limit the effects of the blue lights like a “Twilight IPhone” which blocks most of the blue light so it doesn’t do the same damage. Questions
- If you were the mayor/governor of a town/ state what would you do to protect people from the exposure of to much blue light?
I would switch out the LEDs for more of a cooler color temperature like a off yellow color. Like how they used to look like before all the street lights were switched to the less expensive LEDs. Even though they had to be changed more often.
- In your family how can you limit the liability of the LED lights?
I would border the uses of the phones and if they do want to use it more than I would like than to a “Twilight IPhone” or one of those screen covers that thint out the screen.

Great job Olivia!
I think that as the person in charge I would take the extra expense to find a less harmful light source and limit the time the lights actually needed to be on, often times the lights that are on sometimes don't necessarily need to be. In the summer when we have longer days the lights are still on even when you can still see well.
I would limit screen time for my children because honestly electronic babysitting is a horrible idea, it keeps kids from learning social skills and creativity, and invest in a way to limit the amount of blue light cast off by these devices,
I would try to limit the use by possible banning them or persuade people to use a different, less harmful color of LED lights. I would ty rto get my family to use a less harmful phone or try to limit the use.
Yeah. Like I said in the previous comments that we need to get a cover that blocks most of the blue LED light from shinning out is a good thing.
I would try to find a replacement for LED Lights that was less harmful to people. I would definitely do research to try to find a better solution for my people.
Knowing this information I think I would take the LED lights out of my house. I would also like to limit phone usage in my house and try the "Twilight Phone".
Yeah I think that would be the first step on protecting and preventing and if I was apart of your community I would be happy to know that you care enough to make changes for the better.
I would check to see what all types of things that cause it and if they do then I would take them out and put new ones in that wouldn't do those things to you.
Yeah I think changing the color of different LEDs or even to get them a cover so not as much blue light shines through would be better than doing nothing.
I think that nowadays everything causes cancer. Unless it was an enourmous threat, I wouldn't do anything. In my family, I might want to limit the use of phones and technology, but that is also because it can be bad for you for other reasons.
Yeah I totally agree! Everyday its like the scientist have found something new that causes cancer! I think it is a more mild thing that is not going to effect people unless they have high exposure.
