'Blackfish' focuses on the orca whale, Tilikum and the life of Free Willy (Keiko) and the dangers of keeping their species in captivity. The documentary focuses on the captivity of the killer whale Tilikum, and how Free Willy's life isn't all the great in captivity and shows and the consequences of keeping such large and intelligent animals in captivity. The coverage of Tilikum begins with his capture in 1983 off the coast of Iceland, showing how he was harassed and beaten and torched along with fellow captive whales and left in dark tanks for days. It also focuses on SeaWorld's claims that whales in captivity live longer, a claim that the film argues is false. This documentary is a truly amazing film. it really shows how horrible these amazing creatures lives are in captivity and what they go through while being captured. I never realized known how horrible they get treated, its so sad because they are amazing animals and shouldnt be treated like that. while in the process of capturing of the whales for captivity hundreds of whales are killed in the process because they didnt make the cut so they are killed instead of being released back into their home. this is a truly eye opening film everyone needs to watch. what are your guys opinion on how these are getting treated.

Good topic and well done! Be sure to capitalize words that should be.
I have not watch this movie, but it sounds good. I think they are treated terribly and we need to help them. I dont think they should capture such a big animal.
It is really sad that they treat such amazing animals like this. I hope something is done to change this.
it sounds like a good idea for everyone to watch to find out how they are really treated and maybe that would put a stop to it.
I've heard about this before. It is scary to imagine how these Orcas can get so violent after being held in captivity. They aren't just something we can bottle up in a glass jar and beat until it does what we want it to, nothing in nature truly is. These Orcas can go on rampages to the point of killing their trainers because of mistreatment. This is a subject that definitely needs more exposure than it is probably getting around the world.
This is terrible that people could actually do this to living things and it should be monitored because no way can they be treated like this and it be okay. Hopefully people see this and help these whales from this torture.
I've herd about how bad some animals are treated in those situations. If never been to like sea world or anything, but I'm sure most people don't think about those kind of things while watching the whales perform, or how often they are fed or how clean the water is.
They should not have to live like that. I think that if they do have to keep some in captivity, they should not keep them there for their entire lives.
I think this could be an interesting film. I think captivity should be changed to be more like putting a tracker on them to study them. If there were more of the animals that have been hunted to near-extinction, we wouldn't need zoos as much.
i know, its sad that because of us there aren't as many as there use to be.
