Birth control can and will cause blood clots

In light of what happened to my mother yesterday i have decieded to tell you about the danger of birth control pills. yes they can cause bloodclots or pulmonary embolism which is a blockage of the main artery of the lung or one of its branches by a substance that has travelled from elsewhere in the body through the bloodstream. This problem can be caused by birth control pills or any other substce that causes blood clots.

Symptoms: difficulty breathing, chest pain, and paltitations .

Severe cases of PE can lead to collapse, abnormally low blood pressure , and sudden death.

if you see medication has a risk of blood clots be careful and take it seriously

isnt this the kind of stuff they should tell you in commercials and ads? or at least somewhere on the box? in fine print...they need to make the warnings more noticeable.

There are things that you can do that will lower your risk for most side effects, like not smoking and things....but all drugs have side effects. I guess as long as the FDA finds that the positive effects outweigh the negative, they'll allow it to go in to the market.

Anything that can have a seriously positive effect on your body, such as preventing you from having children, usually also has serious negative side effects. I guess you just have to take the bad with the good sometimes.

I hate the fact that medicines have such life-threatening side effects. A lot of people don't ever want to be pregnant (or just not at the moment) so they take birth control, and how are the rewarded? With blood clots and potential death? It just isn't right! I know there's nothing in this world that can be gaurenteed or perfect, but can't we get a little closer than this?

With every medication comes a risk. No medication is going to come without a side-affect.

it shows that just because a drug/medicine is approved by the gov't DOES NOT mean that it is still safe and they know all possible outcomes.

it only happens to some ppl and not everyone has the side effects so relax ppl

That's pretty shocking. I had no idea that birth control pills could cause such bad problems. I know quite a few people who take them so it kinda worries me too.
