big hive

In recent news a giant bee hive was found in a cabin in Salt Lake City.  The bee keepers that were called in to help had said that they removed 15lbs. or 60,000 bees from the hive.  The honeycombs found at the site were 12 feet long, 4 feet wide, and 16 inches deep, and it took a full six hours to remove the hive.

I think that it would terrible to find a hive like that at my house.

  • That's nuts. 60,000 bees? I'd hate to be those bee keepers.

  • Wow that's crazy! I can't believe there was that much honey in the hive and that it took that long to remove it all. But its good that they got the bees out of there and away from the house.

  • I think that this is actually really cool! The people who owned the cabin must have left it vacant for a really long time in order for such a large hive to form!

  • That would be really cool for a few minutes, but then it would creep me out! That would be a bad thing to find in your cabin!

  • That would suck to be a bee that built that. That's an impressive achievement, it seems a bit like tearing down the pyramids, those bees should be proud of their work.

  • wow that is huge i cant believe that it was actually that big and full of them i would of been scared if i saw that.
  • That is insane! I guess nobody has been camping in a while, or they like honey.

  • I think I would be very scared if I saw a big hive next to me

  • That would scare me to find something like that anywhere. It's good that people were able to remove it.

  • Thats a crazy big beehive!!! I think that it would be terrible to be a bee keeper that would have to remove those. I dont like bees and that is a ton of bees!!
