The World has recently been effect by the coronas virus, also known as covid-19. The united states came out in december 2020 with a vaccine against the virus, the vaccine i supposed to reduce symptoms. Recently the sesame street mainstay big bird, has been advocating children all around the us to get vaccinated if you are eligible for the vaccine. Big bird is a eight-foot-two yellow feathered bird, who is 6 years old
I personally think that big bird should not be promoting the vaccination, because the vaccination is not required. There are many perks that come with the vaccination, people that have weakened immune systems are recommend to take it due to the high chance of death due covid. I belive that big bird should not be telling children all around the world that it is okay to get the vaccine.

I think Big Bird should stay quiet as it seems she is trying to get kids vaccinated when it should be up to their parents. I believe getting vaccinated is up to the family's ideologies and beliefs. I also think no one should be forced to take the vaccine as it's very controversial.
I'm not completely sure on whether or not I think Big Bird promoting the vaccine is a bad thing. I believe that it is important for parents and children to get the right education about the covid vaccine. But at the same time, its weird that this is recieving hate compared to when Big Bird promoted other vaccines in earlier years. In 1972, Big Bird tried to encourage children to get the measles vaccine by showing him alongside other children get the vaccine. I think that because covid vaccines are seen as more of a political subject, then as something that is helping get the world back to normal, people from both sides are getting mad.
I believe that advertisers know how to catch the attention of children and parents. I think that using big bird as an advertisment for the vaccine was a smart move for pro-vax. But for me, I find it manipulative and stupid. A childrens charector who is supposed to teach kids how to be kind, and just teach the alphabet shouldn't be telling kids what to do with their bodies.
I think that Big Bird and or Sesame Street was paid to encourage children to get the covid vaccine. I personally feel though however that this shuoldn't be aloud to be aired on tv because not everyone belives in the vaccine and it is encourging kids to get it which might go against their parents beliefs.
I think that no one should have to get the vaccine because it should be up to them wether they want to get it or not. I also think that anyone should be able to get it if they chose to however I do not think that it should ever be forced upon anyone to get the vaccine.
I think the big bird should not be telling kids to get the vaccine. Because if the kids dont want to but then they see there favorite cartoon getting one then they would want to get one. Is it also scary because people dont know what is going into there bodys.
I think that big bird can simply say what he thinks. Therefore, I think he can say I encourage the vaccine . However, he should not do anything more like forcing it upon people. Some want to promote it while some want to promote anti vaccines. I understand both sides.
Yeah, I definitely don't think it's right to use a long-time children's TV character to promote the vaccine. It completely takes advantage of vulnerable and susceptible kids who just want to be like their favorite characters. I think that educating kids and their parents on the vaccine is a great thing, but this just seems wrong.
