Big Ben Out For The Season

Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger will miss the rest of the season and he will undergo surgery on his right elbow. "Ben Roethlisberger had an MRI on his right elbow Sunday'. it was decided that he will have surgery after he left Sunday's game against the Seattle Seahawks at Heinz Field late in the second quarter, grabbing his elbow after a throwing a pass on a non-contact play.  He will be placed on our Reserve/Injured List and is out for the season." The steelers fell short of winning againest the seahawks and now are 0-2 for the season. The 37 year old Roethlisberger is the Steelers' all-time team leader in passing yards and touchdowns. He has won two Super Bowls (XL and XLIII) and is a six-time Pro Bowler.

Do you think that 37 is getting to old for the NFL?

I believe that he could have a few years left but he could also get hurt alot easier and he could be hurt more than he plays.

Do you think that he will be back before the end of the season?

I dont think he will if he has to go through surgery the recovery process will be long and hard.

Do you think the team has a chance in the playoffs with a rookie quarterback?

I dont think think that they will they have a rookie quarterback who has never played in the NFL he might have some trouble adjusting from college ball.

  • Good topic as it is big news in the NFL. Be sure to comment more frequently and you are lucky I didn't start with 8th hour as far as grading goes. -5 late

  • No, I think he was just having some trouble, but is fine with his age. No, I think it will take some time for him to recover and heal up before he is all better to play again and be back by the end of the season. Maybe they will it just all depends on if he knows how to play well and pass the ball and everything right.

  • I think that if he really worked and stayed in shape he would be fine to stay in the NFL. I do not because elbow surgery is pretty serious especially for an athlete of his type. You see ptchers and quarterback be out for possibly two seasons with injuries like this. I have not seen the rookie play but I'm sure they will do just fine with/without Ben Rothlisberger.

  • No because there are plenty of players that are getting old like Arron Rodgers and it is really about staying healthy. I think the rokie has a chance because there have been plenty of rookies and they have done fine.

  • I think you can play football when your 37 it just dpeneds on what position you play and your injury history. No I think he will be out for the whole seasona and the team have already put him on ijuried reserve for the year. I think their chance to get in will be hard espically in the divison they are in with baltimore and cleveland.

  • I do not think that he will be able to make it back by the end of the season unless he recovers really quickly. I think that if the new quarter back plays good they might have a chance but it will be a lot harder now.

    • I agree that it is highly doubtful that  he will be able to be back before the end of the season and he if he i still think that he will struggle to be in top shape and The new quarterback could do good but the chances are alot harder.

  • I think it just depends on the shape of your body, because if you are still doing great in league then keep going but if you realize your body can't handle it anymore than enough is enough. I don't think he will be able to return till next season and you never know how a rookie can handle the league until they play just like Mahomes but in the situation they are in, I do not believe they will make the playoffs.

  • i think he should have a cuple years and and if he dicides to end his NFL cariear  there hat his choice  but the longer he plays the more he is going to hurt himself alot more

    • I also thin that the longer he plays the more he is gonna get hurt and the worse the injuires are gonna be and the longer the recovery time will be and i dont think that he will quit over this injury
