Joe Biden was the first president since Bill Clinton to put an executive order on his first day of office. President Biden has put up 17 executive orders over his first two days. This is a very large number for a new president on his first two days in office. Biden is without a doubt working to undo what Trump has done as fast as possible.
For an example of how many executive orders President Biden has done, Donald Trump sent 31 executive orders through his first year in office. President Trump issued 4 executive orders the month of January after he was elected. Obama had previously signed 8 in his first month of January. Executive orders where used when their was not enough time to get a bill sent through congress.
Many people dislike executive orders because they don’t have to be passed by the Legislative Branch. Some people feel like this undermines the credibility of the Legislative Branch itself. I personally don’t agree with sending so many executive orders through because they were only supposed to be used in emergencies. I also don’t think any of the executive orders he sent through are going to prevent emergencies. I do believe some of his covid orders where good ideas. President Biden has declared war on covid, but only 10 out of the 17 executive orders were for covid. Biden is expected to sign an order raising the federal workforce minimum to 15 dollars an hour as of CNN Politics. The other is expanding food assistance programs and stimulus checks.
Do you agree with the planned 15 dollar minimum wage?
Do you think Biden has done too many executive orders?

Good story choice and well done Mason! Try to have a follow up question when asking yes/no questions such as "Explain" or "Why or why not?"
I think that Biden should not be able to make any executive orders, just like I think that Trump should not be allowed to use executive orders. I think that executive orders are not democratic, and that they embody a dictatorship more than anything else. I think that Biden is abusing a power he should never have been given, and I think that it is a real threat to democracy itself.
Do I think Biden has made too many executive orders, no. With Biden as president he has the right to make as many executive orders as needed. However congress can overturn his proposed executive order very easily. Most of Biden’s executive orders are for Covid-19 relief however there are some that differ.
I do think the Biden has too many executive orders and he should only get to pick a few of them. I also think that 15 dollars would be nice but I think that everything would then rise up and then eventually it would be like it is now just everyone getting paid more.
I think he could've made it cheaper for people because people might not get paid as much. Theres people out there who work hard and it will be stressful for them if they didn't have enough money to keep themselves going. I think Biden should've thought of people and their lives before deciding the 15 dollar minimum wage. My opinion might be wrong but I just tried my best to get some thought into it
I do not agree with that large of a minimum wage raise. I think that we could raise it some but almost double is not the move. Raising it that much would hurt our economy and also raise the unemployment rate. I also think that he has done a couple too many executive orders. He should have put more thought into his executive orders.
I don't agree with the 15 dollar minimum wage. Raising the minimum wage is also going to raise the poverty line, so it isn't going to help anyone. It raises the poverty line because a minimum wage that high will in turn cause prices of goods and services to go up because the people selling these goods need to make more money in order to compensate for the more money that they need to pay. With these raised prices, the people getting the "benefits" from the minimum wage are only going to have to pay more for whatever it is that they want to buy. This is just inflation. Money doesn't always equate to value, the value of the dollar is always changing.
That makes a lot of sense, if you raise the minumum wage everything else will rise accordingly so it would be useless. Or businesses will have to cut employees if they don't raise the prices of the items they are selling.
I do think that minimum wage could be raised, but definetely not to $15. It would hurt our economy and small businesses who can't afford to pay employees that much. I think he has done to many executive orders because he just got into office and should've thought more about it and taken more time before completely turning everything.
I agree that it could be raised, but not that quick and not to that high of a price. I also think biden should've thought through his orders more.
