Biden Cancels Keystone Pipelines

In January of 2021, Joe Biden was voted into office. Within his first 72 hours in office he signed over 2 dozen excutive orders, this including stopping the Keystone Pipelines. By stopping the Keystone Pipeline, President Joe Biden, making anywhere from 11,000 to 83,000 Americans lose their jobs. Joe Biden hopes of using "clean energy", and helping to create 10 million jobs. I personally don't think this will happen, I think Joe Biden made a big mistake on shutting down the Keytone Pipelines, he made a lot of American lose their jobs, making many American upset with the matter.

The Keystone Pipelines deliver about 550,000 barrels of oil from Alberta, Canda to Steele City, Nebraska. People are saying that the order, which displaced them from project, is now threatning their economic stability. David Dickerson, who has worked for the gas and oil industry for 31 years said, "I feel pretty betrayed." Many other people also reported saying they felt betrayed. With the pipelines being shut down a lot of prices are going to rise. Such as gas prices, like they already are. This is causing many people to start protesting with both parties. Democrats protesting Biden did the right thing, and Republicans protesting to start the pipelines back up again.

A lot of people that are lefting leaning are saying that shutting down the Keystone Pipelines this is great, or time for us to use clean energy. However, many people on the right side are saying this will cause an economic crash, and are upset about all the jobs loses. I think that shutting down the Keystone Pipelines was a huge mistake on Biden's part, due the many job loses, having gas prices increase, and not helping "untiting" America again. If anything he will simply made our problems worse, and it will be a dark time for America again.

  • I think that he made a mistake about canceling the keyston pipeline because I know he plans to make more jobs with the clean energy stuff but he made people lose their jobs and they might not qualify for the clean energy jobs.  Canceling the pipline is also going to make crude oil and natural gas prices go up and will make the gasoline price go up even more than it already has.

  • Personally Bidon has been in office for a week and he has already shut down the pipeline which has two major issues it costs many Americans there jobs and has now cut off one of our main sources of oil. Trump was all about making jobs for Amercians while Bidon is now shutting down the blue collar jobs I don't see this ending up well for him he's already in a bad position and it's only been a week.

  • Shutting down the pipelines may seem like a bad idea now but as you said it has the potential to make a lot more jobs in the process. It is hard to judge if it was a good idea or not right now. We will have to see how many jobs are created using "clean energy".

  • I think biden shutting down the pipeline was a not very good idea. him shutting down the pipeline has cost many americans jobs and alot of oil has been lost due to the keystone pipline being shut down. At this point biden is just Reversing everything trump is doing and not even making his own executive decision.

  • I dont think that shutting down a main source of oil was very smart. Many Americans lost there jobs due too stupidity, but hey what can i say im just a teenager in a small town. Not much i have control over, but i wish i did so the country wouldnt be as bad as it now.

  • I don't believe that shutting down the pipeline was not a very good idea. I think that Biden thinks that he can just stop everything that Trump was trying to do and I think that all of the things that he has stopped has been a very bad decision on Bidens part.

  • I think Biden shutting down the pipeline was a mistake. People had been working on the pipeline for years, and Biden drops a bomb and stops it. What a huge waste of time. It is a good thing that he was thinking about the environment. However, you can't annihilate 83,000 jobs all because you have a good heart. I think this will make a lot of people upset and I agree with you that America will be heading into dark times again.

  • I don't think shutting down the pipeline was a good idea becuase now a lot of people are going to lose jobs that they needed.  But it also will help the environment because it is dangerous because it can harm the area it goes through if theres an oil spill.

  • I think that this was a bad decision on Biden's behalf he took away thousands and thousands of jobs from people and left them jobless and some of those people were the only source of income for their family. Not to forget all of the jobs not on the pipeline like the refinery workers they lose their jobs too now, and the pipeline wouldn't produce as much pollution as the trucks and trains will put out.
