The Fairmont Hotel in San Francisco, California started welcoming Bees as guest. Bees have been common in some hotels especially in San Francisco. Some hotels have there own bee farms to make their own honey and sell it. These types of hotels have have started popping up from San Francisco to Chicago to New York. Urban beekeeping has been on the rise for the past decade. Bees are very import to our agricultural economies, especially in California so these hotels that are allowing bees to stay and live there is making the bee population higher and helping the from the loss in 2006.

If you were a hotel owner would you allow this?

If i was i would because bees are important and so are using it to make their own honey and that could also make extra money for you hotel.

Would you want to stay in hotel that lets bees live in the hotel?

I would but i bet for people that are allergic and pay a lot of money and than go and they cant stay would make me upset but i think the ideas because its bring the bee population up.

  • Well done Jayden!

  • I would allow this and immediately start a bee farm, it's not only good for money but also for bee population. I would still stay in the hotel even if there were bees living in the hotel. Unless I was allergic, then that may cause a bit of a problem.

    • So you would start a bee farm which is a cool idea would you have it in the hotel? if so would guest be allowed to visit it? you mention that you wouldn't stay if you were allergic do you think that will be one of the bigger issues with this?

  • I probably wouldn't allow it. You got to think about other people that are afraid or even allergic to bees, so that's why I wouldn't allow it.

I probably wouldn't, it'd kind of be disturbing and it wouldn't be that great I think.

  • If I were the owner I probobly wouldn't allow it, because what if one got out from where they are making the honey and something were to happen to a guest? I wouldn't want to stay at a hotel like this becsue I don't bees.

    • That makes sense i bet they could get out easy and not liking bees would be two reasons not to have them in your hotel and for not staying in a hotels that allows bees cause they could get out.

  • 1) Yea, sure this is for a good cause so I would allow bees into my hotel. NO, I wouldn't! This is the dumbest idea ever this is putting people in real danger what if people staying at the hotel were allergic to bees??

    2) NO, I would never stay in a hotel with bees. They gross me out and I would never want to go there even if the people said they were harmless. This would make the hotel look bad.

    • You think its a for a good cause but you don't want to have them in your hotel and you wouldnt stay in a hotel that allows them but you would you stay in a hotel that allows animals like snakes? Its kinda like the same thing some people have them as pets and some have bees as pets

  • I would be ok with it. they should put signs out to let people know that there are bees in the hotels. there population is very low right now and if this helps get there population back up to where it should be it would be ok with me. I think that it would be kind of cool to go to one of these hotels just to see this.

    • That's a good idea to put signs up i agree if hotels were to start having it putting signs up and making sure guest knew about it would be the biggest thing because some people have allergies. So you think it would be cool to have them would you have a special place for them and would you allow guests to see it?
