Bee Siege

Sheriff's Deputy, Brandon Jenkins, had been called out after a lorry, type of truck, broke down new Raleigh, North Carolina. The lorry had been pulling a trailer loaded with 60 boxes of bees-and the vicious little buggers had escaped.

Poor Jenkins arrived at day break just as the bees were waking up and they swarmed him, forcing him to retreat back to the safety of his patrol car and radio for help. The massive amount, 50,000 to be exact, held Jenkins for 3 hours... They weren't a very happy bunch.

Jenkins said, "It was mind boggling how many bees were out there. At some point, it was hard to see through the windows!" Jenkins admits to using DEADLY FORCE against some of the fearsome soldiers who got in. Jenkins defends that, "It was more or less self-defense. There were a couple bees in my personal space, my comfort zone, and I just wanted to get them out."

The police ended up calling in two beekeepers who used the typical bee-calming accessories and collected them. They said the bees had been attracted to the light colored patrol car.

Beekeeper Charles Heatherly said, "The bees were hot and bothered. They got a little testy."

Jennifer Kelly, a honeybee technician said, "They were just very confused. They don't have a queen to guard and they were kind of lost."

Heedless to say, the losses were few on both sides and that war ended peacefully with what appears to be no hard-feelings on either side.
