A couple went to NYC for making a vacation over New Year's eve. It ended up being a nightmare when they found a bed bug infestation under their mattress in the hotel room.
Normally Elgin Ozlen wanted to celebrate his birthday with his girlfriend in New York and see the ball drop at the Time Square. All of that ended up in the hospital as they saw the bugs under their bed. His Girlfriend's body is inflamed and she is furious that the bites and scratches may lead to permanent scarring.
The hotel was apologetic and refunded the couple's money.

My Opinion:
I am not sure if they knew about it or not. In my opinion they had to see it when they were cleaning the room. I mean when they should have knew it why would they let people go in that room.
I think the hotel apologized because they felt bad for the the man and his girlfriend. And when they apologized and refunded the money that made me think about that the owner of the hotel didn't knew about that situation.

I think that maybe they had complaints in the past but maybe nothing major, but I don't think that they would just put somebody in a room they knew had bedbugs. If I was in this situation I would be really mad, but if the people working at the hotel didn't know, couldn't have done anything. Maybe if the cleaning people would have been doing their jobs thoroughly they would have noticed.
I agree with you! I think it's kind of a shame putting someone in a room where they knew bugs would be in there that's why I am not sure if they knew about it.
I don't think so, because then they wouldn't put someone in that room and they would probably have someone come in for the problem. They probably did it to save face and because if they didn't they would probably be sued over it.
I agree with you. Either they didn't knew about it which means they didn't cleaned up the room right or the knew about it which would be kind of crazy because then they put the couple in the room and that is a wrong decision.
I think the hotel would've had to know because the rooms are cleaned often and if the infestation was that high they had to have been there for awhile. I think they hotel most likely apologized to avoid controversy and receiving a terrible reputation, they also most likely felt bad for the girls medical issue.
I agree with you. I also think that they should have known at least something about the situation.
1. If it was that bad, they must have known something. A few of the cleaning people probably should have known. If there was that many bugs that it could lead to scaring, it had to have been noticable

I agree with you. The maids should have known about that situation. When not which also could be possible shows that they didn't cleaned up the room right.
