School officials say that Baylor University will be suspending 14 of their baseball players during this upcoming season due to a hazing incident that happened last year. The hazing happened in February of 2019. The school became aware of the incident 3 months later. They did a full investigation and the only information that was released was that no drugs or alcohol were involved. Mack Rhoads, vice president and director of intercollegiate athletics, said that their priority is to have an environment that is safe and caring. He also said the university is taking matters very seriously. The suspensions will be staggered over a 3 week time period starting on February 14th, and each player will be suspended for two games. Baylor's coach, Steve Rodriguez, said he is very disappointed, but they will move forward. There have been many sexual assault cases filed from women who claim to have been assaulted by members of the football team. Baylor has settled several lawsuits from women who claimed their allegations were mishandled or ignored.
Do you think the baseball players should be suspended for more than 2 games each? Why or Why not?
Yes I do think the baseball players should be suspended for more than 2 games. Hazing is a very serious problem and should not be joked around with. The baseball coach should even consider kicking those 14 players off of the team for their actions.
What do you think Baylor could do to have less problems happen on campus?
I believe that Baylor could place more cameras around campus, so that way if anything happens, they could catch more people. The people on campus could also make sure that they don't leave their dorm without another person. Also don't let random people in their dorm.

Great job Ashton!
I think that yes hazing is wrong yes im glad they are having a suspension but getting kicked off the team might be alittle to far and that they are already getting punished for there actions
I think that baylor should increase cameras on campus and to see if the girls or who ever try to covict people are telling the truth
I agree, I think this a very serious matter that should be handled. The baseball players should be suspended or even kicked off for the season. I think they could prevent it with threats to be kicked off. I agree they could set up cameras to make sure everyone is safe.
Yes , so they can learn from their mistakes and what they did was wrong. Also this is a type of discipline that every coach should use if any players were caught doing something that they shouldn't be doing if they're an athlete. I definitely agree putting cameras around campus.
They definitely should be suspended for more then two games. If they don't learn from their actions, it could happen again. I totally agree with you that the baseball coach should consider kicking those 14 players off of the team for their actions. I believe that Baylor can install more cameras and maybe do routine check-ups around the campus to make sure nothing seems out of place.
Yes because that kind of behavior should not be except anywhere so if there is some way to discourage them from doing that kind of stuff they should have been banned longer and maybe make that their warning before a more serious punishment. I agree that he could have had more cameras to catch the people in the act and to get evidence to find out who these people whi did it might have been
I agree with you that the baseball players need to be suspended for more than 2 games each. Hazing should never be allowed and you should face a bigger consequence than a two game suspension especially if there were 14 people doing it.
I do think that the baseball players should be suspended for 2 games because hazing is nothing to be messing around with. Also Baylor could prevent more of these problems by puttting more cameras around campus and having more strict dorm policies.
I agree with you that the fourteen baseball players need to have a harder punishment. Hazing is a very serious problem and it is nothing to mess around with. People can get seriously harmed and possibly even die due to being hazed.
I think that supsending them for only two games isn't enough. Hazing isn't something to mess around with and think it's okay to do. I agree with you on the coaches considering kicking those players involved off the team or maybe even sit them out the whole season because if they are only benched for two games they may think they can get away with it, and think that they'd be fine if they did it again.
