James Holmes was showing a midnight showing of "Batman: The Dark Knight Rises" in Aurora, Colorado in June 2012. Holmes was said to have shown up dressed like a Joker wannabe and started to open fire on the crowd. Holmes was accused of killing 7 people and hurting/maiming 70 others. Authorties said that Holmes wore body armor and carried several guns, one of which was a AR-15 rifle, lots of ammo, and a gas mask. Holmes' plea in court was that he wasn't guilty for reason of insanity. Prosecutors weren't swayed and they demanded death penalty. Holmes later admitted to having an psychotic episode during court in July 2013.

I think it is a sad story that should be brought to justice. I think he must have been a little mentally unstable to have done this and must have had some sort of psychotic break.
He obviously has things wrong with him and I think that no matter insane or not he should face the death penalty for his crimes.
Obviously this is just a tragic story and men like this need to be killed and made an example of. Usually when something like this happens they try to say that they are insane witch I personally think is a bunch of bull.
I think that it is horrible that he did this and he should get the maximum penalty for it
I think that someone has to be at least a little insane to randomly want to show up and start shooting people. James was 25 years old when he decided to shoot up the movie theater, this was his first offence. If he wasn't mentally insane but rather just violent I would think that he would've had an episode before he was 25 years old. This was a very random event that he had absolutely no motive for. I don't think a sane person decides it would be a good idea one night at age twenty five to go shoot several people at a movie for fun.

I think he should be punished. I think he was telling the truth in court and did have psychotic episode, but still needs to be found guilty.
He could be given time to get help before they convict him, but I doubt that that would help him.
I think he should be punished for doing this and killing those people. Maybe he has some issues and he should be put in jail so this doesn't happen again.
