4 people were injured from a basketball hoop falling from the ceiling during a wrestling tournament. 2 women were took by helicopter, and 2 children were taken by ambulance.

I think this is terrible. I heard about it on the news and it sounded horrific. Hopefully the school does a better job next time they put basketball hoops up and hopefully the people are able to have a full recovery.
Those people were just in the wrong place at the wrong time. That is very unfortunate.
What a horrible time for this to happen. Of all the different times when there was no one in that gym it fell when there were people all over the floor and in the stands.
That would be really scary! I hope everyone will be okay.. I think it is for the best if they close the gym for awhile.
That is crazy! They look like they are so secured up there but guess not. I hope these women and children recover.

I wonder what was holding it up. Cause it probably could've fell earlier. I feel really bad for the people that it fell on and i hope they recover.
That is really scary! I always think that will happen when I go into the gym, but it actually happening makes it even scarier.
It's probably smart that they're closing the gym for a while. The mechanism that was holding up the hoop must've been really old and finally just broke. You'd think something so important to peoples safety would be kept up to date... I wouldn't want to walk back into a building like that until I was sure it was safe...Or at least not sit near anything hanging from the ceiling.
