Aurora Kephart is a 25 year old waitress at Conway's Restaurant and Lounge in Springfield, Oregon. One of her regular customers, who wishes to remain anonymous, tips her with unplayed Keno tickets. This week he tipped her with two of the cards he had purchased on the third. The first ticket won five dollars, but the second ticket hit the jackpot. The customers tip of a ticket turned out to be a $17,500 tip. Aurora tried to give the ticket back to the customer but the customer refused. Aurora gave part of her winnings to the customer and some to the local fire department. Other than that she has not spent it yet. Aurora plans to save her money. I can't believe that the customer would just let her have his huge winnings! My guess is that he makes good money in his job or that he is just generous. How would you feel if you were the customer? If you were the waitress would you feel like you always owed the customer something?

Great topic! I would feel guilty as the waitress. no doubt.
I thought it was interesting that she gave to the fire department opposed to something else. I wonder if the fire department was most in need of the money or something.
That is really generous of the costumer to let her keep the money. It was also really nice of her to give some back to him and to the fire department. But i think if that happened to me i would always feel like i owed him for that if the costumer wouldn't take it back.
Good point, I would always feel like I owed him something even if he said I didn't.
I'm not surprised that the customer didn't want the money, he gave the ticket to her and she deserves the money. I think it's very generous of the man to let her keep the ticket though.
You are right he did give it to her knowing it could win! If I was this waitress I would have been a little annoyed at first that he never gave me an actual tip but I guess it literally paid off for her!
I think that as a waitress, I would love this tip! I don't know if I would accept it all because I would feel bad so I think it's a good idea that she gave some of it to the fire department. I think it also shows that she's pretty responsible, because I probably would have spent it all!
I agree! I would have been really tempted to go spend it all on shopping or a car or something. I think she did the responsible thing!
Exactly.. That kind of something could get me lots of new clothes! haha.
That guy is pretty crazy to let the waitress keep all that money, if I were him I would of took the money back. He does probably make good money though if he let her keep all of that. He is generous no matter if hes rich or not. I bet that really helped out with her life.
