The popular app "TikTok" has had some backlash over a challenge that is going around called the "outlet" challenge. It involves partially inserting the brick potion of a charger into a wall outlet and then sliding a penny down onto the brick's exposed metal prongs. The result of this is a blast of electrical sparks. This challenge has caused significant property damage at Westford Academy, a high school in Westford, Massachusetts, where one student is facing charges against him for burning a building, property destruction, and disorderly conduct. Two other students at Plymouth North High School in Plymouth, Massachusetts scorched two outlets in a classroom after doing this challenge. Massachusets State Fire Marshal sent a letter last week to the schools warning them about the dangers of the challenge.
What are people trying to prove by doing this?
I think that most people are just trying to get attention and famous off their stupidity.
Do you think that the people doing this challenge uderstand the consequenses of their actions?
No, becuase most people do it to be funny, when kids are getting charged with felonies and buildings are burning.

Jaci,
Most of this has been plagiarized from your source. be sure to always put things in your own words.
Poeple are just trying to get famous by doing dangerous challenges and not getting anythying out of it. They are just puttting themselves and other people in danger. I don't think people understand the consequenses of doing this challenge, and the destruction they are doing.
I agree with you. A lot of people in this day in age just care about their popularity and if people know them, but if they do this challenge, what they don;t realize is is that it could seriously injure someone and burn buildings down. All they care about is is if they are going to get famous off a stupid challenge.
I think people are just being immature by thinking it's funny and their just doing it to get more veiws on tik tok. I think when people thought about doing they just wanted to see it exploed they never thought about what tould happen to the out let or the building.
I agree with you. TikTok in the past year has been blowing up and if you aren't on that for you page you aren't anything. Because of this people will do whatever it takes to get there. Kids were doing it as an "experiment" they wern't expecting all of these consequences.
Oh boy its Tide Pods round 2. Seems like idiots never learn. If people are trying to prove anything by this its that they will do anything to be popular, even if its likely illegal and or dangerous. And I dont believe that the people doing this did much of a risk assessment before doing it, so I doubt they realize what kind of consequences it may hold.
I agree with you. It's sad to say that people in this day in age will do anything to try and get their names out there and become famous, and if they then they "don't fit in." I agree that the kids doing this don't know the risk factors on a challenge like this where it could seriously injure or maybe even kill people.
It seems to be that when something trends on Tiktok (or any platform), people feel the need to do it to get views and followers, so they hop on the bandwagon to profit off of it, no matter how dangerous it can be. I don't think they understand the consequenses, because I'm sure they realize afterwards that the views aren't worth it. If they do get away with it, their confidence will lead them to do more similar challenges, and eventually they'll face the consequences.
I like the app"TikTok" but I will admit there is some stupid people on it. Some of the challenges that they try to do are litteraly life threaening but they still do it to try and get famous. I think that these people are ownly doing it for attection.
I agree with you. And even if TikTok reports their videos or takes them down for being to dangerous kids will continue to upload them elsewhere. It's every kids dream to be famous but putting yourself in danger just to get there isn't worth it.
