attempted terrorism at Louvre museum in Paris

On February 3rd at the Louvre museum in Paris a Egyptian man tried to enter the museum but was stopped at the entrance due to the fact that he wouldn't enter without his backpacks. When he heard this news he pulled out two machetes and charged one of the officers shouting "Allahu Akbar". While the supposed terrorist was attacking the officers with his dual wield machetes one of the patrol members shot five rounds into the criminal. when searched the terrorist had no concealed weapons or bombs   after subduing the berserk machete wielder the police kept people contained looking for any hostile visitors. Alarms were set off in the museum and people were lead to safety for a few hours. Hundreds were delayed and the only one suspected was a man showing strange behavior. This was such a large event that even president trump tweeted about how on edge France is to terrorism now.

do you think the man was working alone or part of a group?

what precautions do you think should be taken to avoid more attacks in France or do you think this went really well compared to the other tragedys?

my opinion is that this man was just a follower of terrorist ideals and planned without a bigger force backing him otherwise it could have been much more tragic.

I think this went pretty well compared to other France attacks but like i said before this seems like a single man strike all he had was two long knives it was good of them to secure the area to locate whether this is a diversion or a more complicated plan. this man didn't have the same potential as most attackers do nowadays this was sadly just a practice it seems.

  • Good summary but be sure to capitalize words that should be. Also be sure to comment more frequently as that's worth 20/50 points.

  • He probably belonged to a group of terrorists that are fighting for the wrong cause, but I don't think he planned a huge attack in the Louvre or it would have been worse. In my opinion the French people already took a lot of precautions after the recent terroristic attacks. As a tourist walking around Paris nowadays you feel like a criminal, everywhere you look there are some officers and I think that is necessary to prevent huge tragedies like those to ever happen again. Gladly they could stop the guy in the Louvre museum.

  • I believe that the man came from a group but was doing his attack alone. I think they could step up security around places and have more police patroling on foot because Kim Kardashian go robbed in France not too long ago.

  • I believe he could have been a part of a terrorist group, or perhaps this was a way for him to swear his loyalty to them. The officers did handle the situation effectively and very well.  A safe precaution to take, would be to allow officers to check any luggage or bags before entering highly populated areas, such as the museum in this occurrence. Although, this could potentially become a problem and lead to racial profiling.

  • I think he was because if it was a coordinated attack I would think they terrorist would at least try to attack a place with more then one person. I think it went well compared to other tragedys in that area because no one died.

  • I think he was working alone because it didn't say that anyone else was there with him.

I think it went considerably fine because I'm sure there have been worse situations where people have actually died.

  • I think he was probably part of a group or something that had the same beliefs as him and he was sent out as a kind of warning. I think it could have been a lot worse and was certainly bad but I dont think there is much more they could have done rather than the normal searching which they were trying to do when the attack began.

  • I think that if he was doing it for a reason then he was with a group but these people should know that the countries are not scared just annoyed. you really cant take precaution because they step up security the will just find another way to cause terror

  • I also think that he was following what ISIS was doing, and that he thought that this was the right thing to do. I still think he was alone.

  • I want to say that he is working for a group, but if he had such a terrible plan and weapons like that it could have been an individual act. I think a metal detector would've helped in this situation.
