On Friday, December 1, a Christmas market in Germany had to be evacuated. The Christmas market took place in Potsdam, a city on the outskirts of Berlin, the capital of Germany. The reason for the evacuation was an explosive device that was delivered to a pharmacy in the area. The police defused the device and is now investigating if it was a terror attack. They are considering that because of the attack in December 2016. Last December, a tractor-trailer rammed into a crowd in Berlin also at a Christmas market. 12 people were killed and at least 48 were wounded. The driver of the trailer, Anis Amri, was later killed in a shootout with police in Milan, Italy. He was said to belong to ISIS or at least to having had contact with the terrorist group.

Questions:
- Do you think that the attack was a terrorist attack or was it something personal, like an attack on the pharmacist that worked in the pharmacy?
- Would you still go to Christmas markets or would you not want to risk it?
My answers:
- I’m not sure about that, but to me it seems very likely to be a terrorist attack because there have been a lot of terrorist attacks in the last year and also attacks that were pretty similar, so this one could definitely be one too.
- Yes, I would still go to Christmas markets because that’s just a part of Christmas for me and I also don’t want to live my life without having fun and going out because of a fear that exists most likely for no reason.

Super job Clara!
There isn't much to point towards it being a terrorist attack at this point. I think that there is a possibility of it being one but you never know. I think that I would still go because you can't live in fear of what could happen. Living life to the fullest means that you will have to take risks and go to places even if there is the off chance that something bad will happen.
I think it was a terrorist attack because why would you want to kill all of those people when you're only targeting one? I wouldn't go to that specific Christmas market, but that doesn't mean I would stop going to all of them because just because something bad happens at one place doesn't mean that every other place in the world just like that place is bad and dangerous.
Because they never caught the guy you can't assume it was terrorist related, it could have just been a crazy guy. I don't live in Germany but I would still probably go because it is probably a tradition to a lot of people and families.
1. In my opinion it was a terrorist attack, these last months we are living many terrorist attacks and it would not be surprising at all.
2. It depends on where the Christmas market is, if it is in the same place probably not, but if it is a different city or a different country yes.
Oh yes, unfortunately there have been a lot of terrorist attacks lately. Your answer to the second question also really makes sense. And Isa, you probably won't even respond, but still ha, I was wondering if you have Christmas markets in Spain too.
I don't know enough information to really know the answer to the first question but with everything going on in the world today I would guess terror attack. Not many people do things like this for personal reasons although some do, not many. A attempted terrorist attack is way more likely. I would risk going out to these markets and I would stay in and online shop for the holidays just to be safe.
I think that the attack was most likely a terror attack simply because of last year the attack on a Christmas market. I also think it that since is it most likely a terrorist group, which they aren't Christian it would make sense that they would attack such a big part of Christianity. I also have no idea what a Christmas market is and I've never heard of it, so I can't say.
Oh yes, I totally forgot to think about religion. It would totally make sense as a terrorist attack for example from ISIS to attack a Christmas market. And oh my god Abiii you should just come with me and go to one!!
1. I think it was a terrorist attack, since they're more likely to get explosives on their hands and be able to sneak them into a pharmacy, and because of other recent terrorist activities like last year's tractor incident.
2. I would still go to to the markets, since the odds of being at the site of an attack are low and because more awareness is being spread out about them it will be more alert.
