Athlete's downward spiral

This story was about Aaron Hernandez and his fall from grace. He was once a star receiver for the New England Patriots and now he is spending his time behind bars. The article talks about how he was the golden boy at his high school and loved by his community. Hernandez was convicted of murder back in 2011. He was convicted of two counts of murder of Odin Lyod.

What do you think about this story? Do you think that he chose the wrong path?

  • Like I said in class, I think you could have done a better job educating people about this story and who Aaron Hernandez is. I also think your questions could be better.

  • I agree that its a possibility that the money got to him and caused him to get a big head. I really like the part about remembering where you came from. If he had remembered where he came from he might still be playing in the NFL and not behind bars.

  • I believe that too much money can make a person change. When you're constantly being told that you are the best of the best, you start to have a big head, thinking that you'll get away with things easier. Hernandez should have thought of where he came from, and who raised him. Your actions not only reflects you as a person but sometimes the ones who raised you.

  • I think that Robbie is right by saying that his ways caught up with him and that he probably should've been a little more careful with his decisions in college and the NFL.

  • I actually read this article earlier today. Most people that follow football knew that Aaron Hernandez was one of the top tight ends in the NFL. I think Aaron started to party to hard in college and it eventually came and nipped him in the butt in the long run. As I was reading I saw he was also a suspect in a double homicide several years earlier. This just pushed my opinion farther.

  • I think he chose the wrong path because all of those people that looked up to him he let down. I think all of the money and fame must of got to his head and changed him.
