On Saturday, October 27th, another shooting occurred. It happened in Pittsburgh at around 3 PM at a synagogue. It resulted in 12 people injured and at least 10 people dead. In response to this shooting, security has been increased around the state but many arguments have been made about the fact that there was no security or guards present at the synagogue. President Trump also agrees that if there had been security, the outcome would have been different. After more investigation, police discovered that the 46 year old gunman, Robert Bowers, had made many comments about Jews and often had anti-Semitic posts on a website called The Gab. This is said to be one of the worst crime scenes the police in the state had ever seen.

Although not every situation like this can be prevented, I think with more security, it could have been possibly stopped and we wouldn't have lost those innocent lives. Security should be increased everywhere because it can happen anywhere at any time.
What can be done about these shootings? How else can they be stopped? Should laws involving guns be changed to prevent shootings like these?
This man was 46 years old, which was a bit surprising to me since the most recent shootings have been done by younger people, but we can increase security and be more aware of the fact that shootings are happening more and more. Younger people can also be educated about these events in the hopes that they will realize that it is becoming an increasing issue and we need to do whatever we can to stop it.

I do not think there should be a need for security. A synagogue is a place for Jews to pray and feel at peace. This just show how corrupt our society is. These shootings can be stopped very easily. Stop giving guns to the mentally ill. We need to have stricter gun laws, and we need to have a better back round check when handing out guns.

I do believe with Trump's statement that we need more security, but who in the world would shoot up a jewish synagogue? So yes we do need at least some type of security or something to deal with these people. What could've been prevented is someone could've had a weapon of any sorts to at least prevent this type of catastrophe, since we live in a world where more people are getting more and more insane. I feel like as more and more shootings are occuring maybe we should start doing something about this. It literally happens every day and we still remain to do nothing about it. I think having better security could help prevent these shootings. We could have stricter gun laws so mental ill can't get these guns and end people's life from just going to an event. You should be able to go to church or a concert without a shooting occur. It's happening to often and killing to many innocent people and I hope we do something about this so we can try to prevent these awful and tragic shootings.
I think they shouldnt of had to have security because its a place of worship, and usually churches dont need to have those because its a place to feel safe and connect with god, but if there would of been security some more people would of been alive. I dont think there really is anything else that can be done about these horrible shootings, and its sad that these things are happening.
I think every place is going to be safer if there is more security is involved, but it may not always work the way people want it. I think more people should have a concealed carry weapon or they can do what schools do and get doors that lock and alarms that go off if there is someone strange in the building.
I do think that if there was more security it would have had a better outsome for the innocent lives taken. I also think that it is such a sad reality we live in, that we have to have security at a synagogue (imagine not feeling safe at your church unless security was there), I can't even imagine that.
