On September 11, 2001, there was nineteen Arab terrorist hijackers that had taken over four airline routes to San Francisco and Los Angeles after liftoff from Boston, Newark and Washington DC. The hijackers took those planes because they had long flights, which means the longer the flights the more fuel the planes had. Five of the nineteen hijackers crached American Airlines Flight 11 into the North Tower of the World Trade Center at 8:46 a.m.. Another five hijackers crashed United Airlines Flight 175 into the South Tower of the World Trade Center at 9:03 a.m.. At 9:37 a.m. five more hijackers flew and crashed American Airlines Flight 77 into the Pentagon. United Airlines Flight 77 was suppose to crash into the Capital or the White House, but instead crashed by Shankville, Pennsylvania at 10:03 a.m.. 2,985 people had died on September 11, 2001.
What I remember about 9-11 is that it was a very sad day for everyone. it was a huge mess. And we were in school that day and 9-11 was the talk of the school. We watched the news a lot about what happend and articals in the paper about. It was a crazy day.
There were nineteen Arab terrorist that were in a group called al-Qaeda. The hijackers were split into four teams, they were all led by a pilot-trained hijacker, they were trained to help subdue the pilots, passengers, and crew. Some people think the reason why they attcked the twin towwers was because of there hatred to America.
The US responded to the attck by sending out a massive seach and resue operation, which had 350 search and rescue dogs. There was only so many people that were found that were all wounded. In the few next weeks of searching they found more people but no survivers. Rescue and recovery efforts took many and many months so complete. It took weeks to put out all the fires of the buildinhg and planes. It took them from September 11, 2001 to May 2002 to get everything cleaned up from the attck.
