Asian hate crime is a huge problem in today’s society, due to covid. People such as Donald Trump have called it the “ChinaVirus” since it originated in China. People have been very hateful to Asian Americans. They have pushed elderly Asian Americans in the street, even have tackled them, and have caused deaths due to injuries. On March 16th there was a shooting in Atlanta at a spa and eight people were killed, 6 of them were Asian women which have brought up questions if it was an Asian hate crime.
Asian hate has been around for many years. It was much known in the 1940 and the 50s due to Pearl Harbor. Asian Americans faced consequences after Pearl Harbor: President Roosevelt passed his executive order 9066, which sent Asian Americans to isolation camps on the West Coast because of their ethnic background. They were behind barb-wired fences for 3 years. The Navy removed Asian Americans or relatives of Asian Americans; they were ported to Los Angles. Asian Americans were arrested with no evidence or reason and would search homes with no warrant.
Personally, I dont get the point of Asian hate. They are good people. They have been having hate towards them since the 1940s and they dont deserve anything that has happened to them. They are good people and this hits close to my family because my cousin is Asian American, and he has had some comments thrown at him in public.

I think Asian hate crime is an absolute awful thing in general and something should happen in order to stop this, but that is probably not going to happen soon. No, Asian Americans did not bring over Covid. Just because it happened in China doesn't mean that they are the ones that did bring it over to the United States.
I think they are wrong, just like against any other race or religion. I do not think that Asian Americans brought COVID to the U.S. I think it was just a situational point where it happened to come from China and that people think that Asian Americans brought it from there. This should not and is not the case at all.
I find this so sad and harmful. We shouldn't discriminate others because of their race. Yes, black were discriminated and still are today. We shouldn't make Asians feel this way too. I don't believe it was Asians that brought Covid to the United States. Even if they did, we shouldn't discriminate them.
Racism is so wrong, and such a part of history, you'd think that by now, after centuries of having the same problem, we would find a solution. Instead, it just takes a new form. I don't understand why people can't just see other for what they are; people. We all bleed red, we all have the same organs that function in the same ways, why can't we just live amongst each other in pease?
Great, another problem that America has to worry about. First racism against blacks. Now Asians. I think it's horrible what people are doing to these Asian citizens. It is defiantly possible that Asians brought Covid to the United States. But, we have no idea for sure, so we shouldn't assume it was them. Yeah, it was their fault for creating the Covid-19 in the first place, but we shouldn't for physically bullying Asians.
I think it is absolutely abhorrent how Asian Americans have been treated after Donald Trump spread lies about covid, and further stigmatized them and their mere existence. No one deserves to be a victim just because of the way they look and their ethnic background.
I think Asian hate crimes should be stoped. They are not the ones at fault and should not be blamed for other problems. Asian hate crimes are becoming a huge problem and should be getting more attention because it is very sad to see this people getting harmed for something they haven't done.
I also believe that there is real bad thing happening to asians that should be stopped and attention needs to be brought to these situations. It also needs to be handled the right way. They may have brought covid but i am not sure we will ever come to an agreement on where it came from.
I don't think that Asian hate crimes are right. Although, I think sometimes situations are blown out of porportions. Like the shooting where eight people were killed. Just because 6 were asian doesn't make it an asian hate crime. I think that the virus originated from China so the people traveling from China to America brought it here, not the asian americans.
