On Saturday, a man and his sons were eating at a McDonald's in Alabama when a masked gunman came and started to firing his gun. The father, who was armed at the time, began shooting back at the gunman. During the shootout, the gunman, the father, and one of his sons were shot. The gunman has not yet been identified had later died of his injury. The father and his son did not have life-threatening injuries and are recovering in the hospital. The police have said that the father is not going to face charges. The police are trying to figure out if the gunman entered the McDonald's to rob the fast-food restaurant or if he was targeting an employee or a customer.

1. If you were in a situation like this, would you act like the father and try and stop the shooter or would you wait for help?
I do not think that I would be brave enough to do something like the father did.
2. Do you think it is more likely that the gunman was planning on robbing the McDonald's or do you think he was targeting people?
I don't know what his intentions probably were. Maybe he wanted to rob the McDonald's and was prepared to shoot other people if he needed to.

Good overall but you could have commented a few more times.
I think that it is hard to tell what someone would do in a time of crisis because everyone acts differently. I hope that I would have acted like him but I don't know if I would have. I think he was probably targeting someone because who would go and rob a fast food joint?
If i were in this kind of situation and had a weapon on me i would attack the attacker im not wited for help when someon is attacking a public place when im right there to stop it
I think he was probelly there to harm most robbiers acure on gas tsations and banks not restruants he probelly wen there sense its a propular reasturent
If I was armed, I would definitely try and stop the shooter before he could hurt anyone. I would say that the gunman was planning on robbing the McDonalds and just chose the wrong day to do it.
I would personally wait for help because at my size and without a weapon, I don't think that would end well. I think that he was planning a robbery and was trying to scare the people with a few "warning shots".
That decision would be so hard to make. It could mean life or death. I would want to say that I would be like the father, but I don't know how I would act until I was put in the situation. My guess is that he was trying to rob the McDonald's, but something went wrong.
1.) I would try and stop the shooter without risking anybody elses lives. 2.) I think he was targeting people because I feel like McDonald's was not a very high income place to rob. But it also may have been a practice for something much bigger.
I think you make a good point that he might have been targeting someone or some group of people at the restaurant because McDonald's wouldn't be the ideal place to rob.
Honeslty, I would want to help however I could. My dad and I have shot targets, and I have shot guns since I was very little so I have always been to fight back. I would rather go down trying to save myself and other people, than just crouching in a corner not doing anything. I feel that the guy was most likely robbing the store. As of right now we don't know this for sure. We do know that the guy was crazy and had the intent to kill.
If I had a gun on me, of course I would try to help, I'd rather have one death over a whole restaurant full. With that being said I don't have any guns and probably won't in my lifetime, therefore, realistically if this happened I'd stay out of the fight.
I think he was probably trying to rob the place. It's not very often people would go target someone they want to kill, while they're at work or another public area. However, I'm not sure if the shooter thought out how robbing a McDonald's would benefit him.
