As many of you know of Dr. Seuss’s books and movies and how creative they are, he is being seen as something he shouldn’t be. His books were meant to entertain children and keep them interested in reading. Now with all that’s happening in the world people are somehow seeing him as racist. Now they will no longer publish his books for this reason.
His books were written and published a long time ago. His books are obviously different and creative. But I don’t think they were ever meant to offend anyone. As adayinourshoes states “Dr. Seuss’s racist writings and drawings mostly insulted African-Americans and Asian-Americans.” I don’t think this is true. I believe people are just trying to make a problem in this world.
I do not think they should take Dr. Seuss's Books away. There is no point because he wrote them to keep kids entertained. He didn't write them to offend anyone or harm anyone. I don't think his books are racist.
Do you think Dr. Seuss is racist?
Should his books still be published?

I don't think that Dr. Suess is racist or was trying to be racist in any of his works. I think that his books should still be published because they were meant to entertain children so that they could enjoy reading,
I don't think that the books are racist and that they are meant everybody that likes to read and they are about red, and blue fish and there are no red and blue people in the world. I don't think he would try to be racist and woud want to make everybody happy in the world.
I think there are many things factoring into this. Dr. Suess in these books may have come off as racist but it's also been 70-80 years and we were a more racist country back then. I also feel like when he basically apologized in his book Horton Hears A Who, he acknowledged that the books weren't that great. The books are part of our history now and I feel like we should keep them in circulation because it is important.
I don't think that he is racist because he was using his own imagination to create characters for his books and to entertain children. All the characters being a different color is not racist. People are just jumping to conclusions thinking it is when it isn't
i personally do not think at all that the docter suess books are racist i just think that they just want to cancel him. if they were racist they would have been taken off shelves awhile ago for being racist. i do think t.hat should keep getting published because they are good books for little kids to read
I don't think that Dr. Suess is racist. He wrote these books a very long time ago when people weren't as focused on racism. He is just trying entertain kids with their books. I think that his books should still be published. I don't think that Dr. Seuss was trying to offend anyone when he was writing his books.
Because of the time that Dr. Suess grew up in, he was bound to have underlying racism. It was just things wer back then. However, as time goes on, things change. Dr. Suess wrote over 60 books. Only 6 of his books are no longer being published; the decision to stop the selling of the books was made by his own company. There were some other illustrations in books that have been censored because of the racist tones, but the books are still being published. And yes, they were racist depictions, but that is just how Dr. Suess was raised and affected.
I don't think Dr. Suess is racist because he is just trying to entertain children with his books. His books should keep getting published because his books were a big part of my childhood.
I do not think that Doctor Suess is racist because the only reason this came about was because of whats going on it todays world and if it was truly racist we would've known a lot longer ago. I also think his books should still be punished because they are good reads for children.
I do not think that Doctor Suess is racist. Some people see things a lot different than other people and I don't see him as being racist however some people might think that he is the slightest bit racist, and then cancel him. Yes his books should still be published no matter what.
