Recently, researchers have looked more into the events that led to Anne Frank and those with her in their hiding place being found. Before now, researchers have said that they believe that someone in the group betrayed them to the police, but now they say that there could be another reason. They have done more research into the police reports on that day and found that they may have been investigating the building for a charge placed against some of the employees of the building. They were found to be charged with making fraud ration coupons.
During this time, people in Nazi controlled areas could only buys things with these. The investigation led the police to investigate the building to find out more about their operation and in turn found the group in their "annex". The article also says that the group even used some of the counterfeit coupons. with all they planned, a simple mistake that wasn't even their fault caused them all to be caught.
Do you think that when you plan for something like this, can you plan for everything?

no because there is just so much that you have to prepair in such a short amount of time
yes because if they would have preped better they could have went through the war
Planning for every possible contingency would be near to impossible. I probably would not be able to plan everything. I think so, especially in today day and age.

No one can never plan for everything because they don't know everything. I think it might for some but the ending remains the same, sad and moving.
Well you cant allays plan for everything some things just happen and then you learn to adapt and deal with them. Yes this changes the story greatly considering that people thought that someone snitched on them.
I think that you really can't plan for everything and sometimes things will surprise you and you have to adapt. this was just something they didn't have enough time to adapt to. I think this changes a lot of the story since many thought that someone betrayed them. I think this helps the story have a happier ending since they were just in the wrong place at the wrong time.
