On the 4th of october, in a wildlife reserve in Limpopo, South Africa, five lions were found murdered. One lion named Mufasa has face and paws hacked off. The murder were disturbed by the staff and fled, leaving Mufasa lying in his own blood while the four other lions had been poisoned. Workers believed that the poachers were planning to murder all of the big cats and sell them or use their body for black magic.
A similar event happened a month ago in Botswana, South Africa. 87 elephants have been found dead near a wildlife sanctuary.The director said: “I’m shocked, I’m completely astounded. The scale of elephant poaching is by far the largest I’ve seen or read anywhere in Africa to date.”

What is your opinion about wildlife reserve?
All over the world people are protesting to close zoos because they think animals should be free. In my opinion it’s ok to have petting zoos for kids, but lions and elephants etc. should be free and not too much in touch with people. Even if wildlife reserves aren’t as jailing as zoos, people enter in the habitat of animals.
Do you think animals there should be better protected?
I think these events show that where people can get in touch with wild animals there is a risk that one or the other will get hurt. If we have wildlife reserves, there should be no way for people to get close enough that they could kill the animals.

I think the problem is that people can get close to the animals, that is why they are getting killed in wildlife reserve. I feel like Zoo's are to pirson like to the animals and wildlife reserve is the best idea. Therefore they should still have them, but take into consideration that animals are getting killed by people since they are able to get close to them.
I think that wildlife reserves are good but its hard to keep them guarded because the fences are not the best the best fences allows the poachers to get in easier and get what they want done, done.
I think they could make better taller fences in order to keep the poachers out and put guards out and have them guarding the grounds 24 hours and 7 days a week.
I think it is very sad. People that kill these animals need to grow up. They are ending many animals lives, and that is why their population is going downhill. I feel that they need to have like fences everywhere that are electric but stand taller so people can't get over them. I think these animals should be better protected. They should have people watching them.
Yes I totally agree. There are only a few people who have ideas like that. Ithink that is one reason why the population of these animals low is. Yes, that would be a good thing to protect the animals but then the animals are like in zoos. I don't know if there is a way to protect them but not have in a enclosure.
In my opinion I think wildlife reserves are good for animals that need it. I also think that zoos are arlright, but sometimes they are not as good as people want them to be. I think that animals should always have projection to a limit. We can try to protect them the best we can while they are in wildlife reserves and zoos, but once they are in the wild, we can protect them as much, or at all.
I agree that wildlife reserves are good when they are safer, but zoos I think aren't ok. I think those animals aren't like the "real" animals in nature. I don't understand why we have to see lions and elephants ... live.
I do think animals should be more protected so things like this can't happen. This is a sad situation because soon animals will be going extinct. People need to appreciate animals and stop treating them so terribly.
I think some like animals that are endangered are ok to be in zoos but some animals deserve to be out in the freedom. I think there should be enough protection that no kids or any other humans visiting can touch the animals or possibly harm them.
Theres nothing wrong with keeping animals caged up its just the people that come into these habitat areas and kill or hurt animals
Yes there should better protection if there going to keep animls in these habitats they need to make sure nobody can hurt or kill them
