On April 2nd 54-year old Steve Utash accidentally hit a 10-year old with his car after the child had simply stepped of the curb out of nowhere. When Steve got out of the car frantically to help the injured kid he was suddenly attacked by at least 10 thugs in pursuit to 'avenge' the child but after Steve was unconscious they jumped in his truck and stole money and his belongings. Although the accident broke the young mans leg these terrible people brutally beat Utash so hard it has left the man so critical that doctors had to induce a coma. The authorities have determined that the accident was 'fairly unavoidable' and that "The gentleman (Utash) had no chance of stopping,"

If this was an accident, which it was, he shouldn't have been beaten up. Even the police said he wouldn't be able to stop. Hopefully he gets out the coma, and the people that beat him up don't cost him his life.
I don't think that this man deserved to be beaten like that. I don't think that the mobs intention was to avenge the child, I think that they just wanted his money and his belongings and then to leave him and the child in the street. If I was a witness I would help the man and the child and call the police right away, I wouldn't care if I gotten beaten for calling the police. It is the right thing to do. Besides the man didn't mean to hit the kid, like it said the kid stepped off of the curb unexpectantly. No one deserves to get jumped and beaten like this.
It was tragic that the kid got hit by a car, but in all seriousness, those thugs couldn't care less about some kid. They probably saw a chance at some easy steal and took it with great pleasure.
These people are stupid to take advantage of a guy trying to help a kid who he just hit. And even if you are "averaging" this person that doesn't give you the right to steal his stuff
They probably thought it was a great excuse to jump him, so they didn't have a guilty conscience. That's an awful story. As if the man didn't feel bad enough. It's not like he did it on purpose. If I had seen that happening I would have done something. I'm not sure what, but he didn't deserve to get beaten like that.
I don't think that the man should have been beaten. The article makes it sound as if there was no way for him to stop his car without hitting the kid. He didn't deserve to be beaten and put into a coma for something that was fairly unavoidable.
I don't think that he deserved to be beaten. I understand why the people called the police but I think they should have tried to save the man first.
I don't think that this man should of been beaten almost to death. He didn't see the kid coming, and he would have stopped if he could have. If the man wanted to hit him, he wouldn't have gotten out to check on him.
Of course! That is a very good point, if he wanted to hit him he wouldn't have gotten out to ask! It's just sad that the gang that beat him up didn't even give him a chance to explain!
