Ancient Biblical Scroll

A very fragile Hebrew ancient scroll that wasn't able to be read for more than 1,500 years. Was now able to be read by new technology to "unroll the old scroll." Instead of unrolling the scroll physically the En-Gedi machine scans the information and gives the people a very clear picture to read the old scroll.

Would you think of the En-Gedi Machine?

Do you think that is important to have a machine like this to unravel ancient artifacts?

  • I think it's great because we can read ancient scrolls and text without having to worry about ruining the scroll. Yes I think that it's important because it could help us understand more about our history.

  • No I would not have thought of this machine. Yes I do think it is important so you don't ruin the ancient artifacts and can still be able to reveal them.

  • If I worked in that type of field, then maybe I could have thought of something like that, but that doesn’t mean I would have ever made it happen.

The En-Gedi Machine is very innovative and resourceful. Handling something as primeval and significant as that scroll is risky, something like that needs to be preserved, and it could have been damaged a lot easier if it weren’t for the En-Gedi Machine.

  • I find that this machine is very useful and even though I know I would not have thought of it I am glad that someone has. I find this very important and useful, it helps us learn about our world past.

  • No I would not think of that machine. Yes I think it is important to have that machine because it can reveal a very important part of history.
