The Police have arrested a couple and charged them in the abduction of two Amish girls on Friday. Stephen Howells and his girlfriend Nicole are the couple being charged. An amber alert was sent out Wednesday after 6-year-old Delila Miller and her 12-year-old sister Fannie were taken from a vegetable stand owned by their family. The amber alert was shortly after called off after the kids had shown up at a strangers home Thursday night. The girls later helped lead the police to the couple that had taken them.
I think that this is a story where things could have gone badly but turned out good. I feel that we hear about stories like this going the other way too often.
Why do you think that the girls were able to return home safely? How would you have reacted in this situation?

I think they were able to return home because they stayed calm and thought things through on how to get away and home. I would have done the same thing and made sure that they got caught for what they did.

They made it home safely because they kept the fire in their soul to never give up and do anything to get back home. And luck might have had a big part of it.
I think they escaped when the couple wasn't home. I honestly don't know how I would have reacted.

I think that the Amish couple realized it was wrong and that is why the kids were released. If the kid were at my door step, i would have been very thankful that the Amish couple did the right thing.
I think that the girls were able to return home safely because the kidnappers had a second thought about what they were doing and decided dropping them off a little ways from home was all they could do, or the girls found a way to escape and they found the nice couple that took them home. In this situation I probably would of been very scared and would of secretly been trying to find a way to escape and if I was let out I may have done what the girls did and find the nearest house or public area to try and get a message home and report where I was.
