American Murder: Laci Peterson
Laci Peterson was a woman from Modesto California. She was married to Scott Peterson and they were expecting their first child, a baby boy. On Christmas Eve, 2002, Laci was reported missing by Scott. According to neighbors, she left her home and walked her dog at a nearby park. Later that day, the dog was reported running back from the park with the leash still attached, no Laci. Scott Peterson has been charged with first degree murder of his wife, and second degree murder of his son. He was sentenced to life in prisonment.
Scott Peterson was labeled as the murderer of Laci and his unborn son, Connor. When Scott Peterson filed a missing persons report on his missing wife, he was having an affair with a woman named Amber Frey. Amber was told before that Scott’s wife died and this would be the first holiday without her present. Scott also told Amber that he was traveling with his family for the holidays, even sharing a voicemail from Paris France on New Years Eve. Amber Frey was reading the daily news when she read about Laci, a description of her husband was in the article as well. She figured it out all along. Scott was having an affair, he lied about his wife, and he wasn’t in France, he was looking for her.
Another reason for how Scott killed his wife was that there is a voicemail that Scott sent to Laci. He sent this the day she went missing (December 24). It says how he was on his way to Berkeley Marina to get his boat in the water. He bought this boat on December 9th. When questioned late that evening, he told authorities he was going golfing. When asked if he would take a polygraph test, he refused. In the following days, authorities went to the shop where this boat was kept. They found handmade anchors, rope, and a pair of pliers. The pliers raised a huge red flag because wrapped around the pliers, was long, black, hair. Later DNA proved it was Laci’s.
Fast forward to April 12, 2003. Around 5 months into the hunt for Laci. 2 miles out from Berkeley Marina, washed up a body, one that was the size of an infant. The next day, the body of a full grown adult washed up in around the same spot as the first. DNA proved that the bodies were Conner and Laci’s bodies. Scott was taken to prison, where he has remained till this day.
Do you think Scott is the murderer?
What do you think would have happened if they never found the bodies?

Good topic choice and well done overall Kenli! I would like to see your opinions within your summary.
I don't think that scott murder his own wife and murder his son too. I don't think he would've done something like that at all. I mean there is sick people out there that would do that, but i don't think he would've done that at all.
Do you think Scott is the murderer? Yes, I do think that he is the murderer. I think that because there is clear evidence why he is the murderer. The hair on the pliers, the pliers on the boat, and the bodies coming from the water. It all made sense why he could be the murderer.
I think Scott is the murderer, everything points towards him. He said he was going to go put his boat in the water, later told authorities he was going golfing. He was having an affair with a different woman. There was plyers found in the shop where his boat was that had Laci's hair on them. I think he would've gotten away if they wouldn't have found the bodies.
I agree with your comment. I agree with all of the edvidence that all points towards him. I do also agree that if they never found the bodies, Scott would've gotten away with this horriblr and horrific crime. It would have left the family in distress and made them wonder for the rest of their lives.
Some people might think that he didnt do it, some think he didnt murder his wife and murder his own son and unborn child. If they never found her body then i think he wouldve kept on living the way he was before but with a cover story. I think they would have found out he was lying later or so because of her missing.
I do think that there could be a chance that he did murder his wife, but I also dont think he would kill his own sun and unborn child. I think that if they never found her body I think that he would of kept living his life and potentily said they got a divored and she moved and then later got married to amy the one from the affair.
I agree with your comment. I do also agree that he want to kill Laci, but not Connor. That is why he was charged with first degree murder for Laci and second degree murder of Connor. In the law, first degree murder means you planned the murder, and second degree means that you didn't plan it.
There could be a chance that he didn't do it but in my perspective I do believe that he did it. But in most cases that they see the husband tends to be the culprit so that is why he is a main suspect. So at least he is serving time for now if he does get found not guilty then I will feel bad otherwise I don't.
I think that there's still a chance that Laci Peterson's killer isn't her husband, however it is most likely that he's the culprit. I don't think anything would have turned out differently if the bodies weren't found, especially when the pliers had already been found.
