Aliens?

NASA announced that they are likely to discover alien life by the year 2025. They say they know where and how to look for them. They now have the technology and the time to start looking for them. Astronaut Stofan said that they are not talking about “green little men” but about little microbes. The Hubble Space Telescope recently has shown that Ganymede (Jupiter’s moon) has saltwater/sub-surface ocean, which can support life. There are also many other settings that can support life it possible.

Questions:

Do you think there are things out there besides just us?

Why do you think they didn't do this project earlier than this?

  • Well done!!

  • I think there is definitely life out there besides us. It could possibly because studying space isn't as popular today as it was in the 60s and 70s.

  • Most definitely there is life out there. They probably didn't have the technology or the budget.

  • Of course there is other life outside of earth it would be intolerant to say there isn't. They probably didn't have the time or money to do so.

  • There could be aliens but we never really know. I'll believe it if I see it.

    • I agree, but I guess you just have to take a risk sometimes.

  • Oh I totally agree that there is life outside of earth. Just like humans and animals have adapted to earth, other things on other planets could probably do the same thing. They probably do research on this earlier because of technology. The technology that we have today is tremendously different than what it was in the past.

    • I agree, it is so much different since even 2 years ago! And there is always that possibility of organisms outside the earth!

  • There has to be other life besides us... more than likely not as advanced, but ya, of course there is life out there. The project was probably more of an idea than at first, and might have not had the right technology to do so yet, at least until now.

    • I agree, it probably took some time to get things going and have the technology.
