Rebecca Edmonds was raised by military people, and decided to join the Air Force. She was offered by the department a full scholarship to Marquette University for nursing, but a couple weeks before becoming a military officer she found out that she was pregnant. The Air Force forbids single parents from enlisting, you either have to get married, put the baby up for adoption, or have an abortion. I think this is bad the way they treated her. What do you think?

I think that is really stupid but rules are rules and you got to follow the rules.
I think they should allow a single parent to join. I think that is a dumb rule. Especially since the department offered a full scholarship to Marquette.
That would be a hard dissicion. If she did end up joining the Air Force and was sent over seas then she wouldn't get to see her kid, but if she was married her husband could watch the kid while she was fighting. It would be a hard dissicion thats for sure.
I think that is crazy. To force her to do something like that is unthinkable! I can't imagine what she is going through.
I would see why they would say that,, but that really is to bad. I feel sorry for her. Maybe once she has the baby she will find something else she really enjoys being dismissed.
Yeah, that is too bad that she wasn't able to go because she got pregnant which is too bad cause she wanted to,
I think that is wrong! If this is her dream to become part of the Air Force, why stop her just because she is pregnant and isn't married? I think it's wrong to discriminate against people like that. I don't see anything wrong with someone being a single parent. She should be allowed to enlist in the Air Force.
I think that it shouldn't matter if she is a single mother, as long as the baby is looked after and not neglected.
Yes, i think that your job should not have a say in your family. I think the child could easily go live with a friend or family while she is on duty. This is sad, if she is that dedicated they should allow her to work things out.
I don't think this is fair for the woman at all. The air force shouldn't be so strict about these things.
