Black Americans have been given disadvantage after disadvantage in our history. The negative stereotypes and racism still runs rampant today, and black people are still feeling the wound that was slavery. Black people were never given adequate support and understanding that creating generational wealth and owning businesses needs to succeed. Today statistics are still painting the story of the cruel situation and system we forced black people into, and on average a white families net income is 10 times greater than black families.
What's the solution? Some say reparations and recognition from America. Reparations for the labor their ancestors had no pay for. Reparations for the systemic racism that black Americans have fallen victim to. These reparations can take form in many different ways, some say 60 acres of land and a mule so generational wealth can be created, and others prefer more money into the black communities and neighborhoods that have been red lined in big cities.
In all, Black Americans deserve to have some sort of compensation for the mistreatment they previously and currently face. Black people were a huge part in the creation and success in this country and we cannot deny that at all. Black owned businesses should be financially helped, and the dignity of these people need to be restored. They need freedom; something that doesn't give but repays.
Do you think Black Americans deserve reparations? Explain.
Do you agree with the idea of the generational mistreatment of black people? Explain.

Great topic choice Madison! Great job!
Although slavery was obviously a bad thing, I don't think that reparations are needed. I believe that everyone in America has freedom. I do agree that back then black people were mistreated. I don't think that it happens as much anymore though. Yes, it still happens, white people can be racist, but black people and other ethnicities mistreat other people just as white people do every day. However, I would agree that white people mistreat black people more for some reason.
Although yes, African Americans have been through a lot during these years, We should not just give them money or land. Instead, we should funnel the money to stop racism and discrimination so that everyone has an equal chance to succeed like help with college or school. I think that the government should never just hand out money or land but should help anyone have the best life.
I don't think Black Americans deserve reparations. Just giving out money to black communities might be a problem because a lot of these communities deal with drugs and gangs. I do believe that many people are still racist and that some people do see black people as lesser then. It's not right because we are all equal, but our country is growing and getting better.
I think your observations with drugs and violence are fair, but you have to dig deeper than that and question why exactly might there be a drug and violence problem predominantly in the black community? I don't think money should directly be funneled into black bank accounts, but I do think equal funding or even more funding in their communities and neighborhoods is necessary.
I think don't think that Black Americans deserve reparations. I believe that if you truely want something good for yourself and your family you have to work for it and you have to ry your hardest. If they don't want to well then leave them where they are until they rethink the decision.
In America today, for black people and minorities alike, it is very difficult to be taken seriously and to get a good education because of their environment America has redlined them into. Black people will eventually thrive once they're foundation is set in America (keep in mind they haven't had the same amount of time we have had as white people to have generational wealth), but a little push that they deserve would not hurt them at all and should be encouraged.
I do not think that Black Americans deserve reparations. There have been numerous groups of people that have had challenges come their way. I do not think that we should give reparations to any group since almost all groups of people have had challenges. Some examples of these groups of people are Muslims, Asians, Italians, and Latinos, these are just a couple of these groups.
While I agree that minorities have been severely hurt by white americans, specifically African Americans have been exponentially hurt in America. For the other minorities, we didn't force them onto our land, we didn't force them to work for no pay, and we didn't force them into bad neighborhoods with little to know government fund. While other people have color have been discriminated against in America, black people arguably deserve the most recognition and reparation
Of course, I believe that black Americans deserve reparations. Nowadays, it is very easy for some people to learn about slavery and brush it under the rug because it doesn't, or will not, directly affect them, but that is not the case for MANY families. Those that cannot walk away from this ginormous problem deserve some form of reparations because while it will not get rid of the problem completely, it could help lead them towards a better direction.
