Exorcisms are usually seen as a creepy, demonic thing that you see in horror movies or read about in books. But, according to this article, exorcisms are usually done when cleansing a house or even bringing good luck to the people in that house. Not all of them are creepy and have demons involved. In fact, the author of the book "The Exorcist" and the director of the of the movie both say that most things that happen in the movie and book are fake and completely made up or "heavily fictionalized"
"Exorcism Live" is a TV show that aired its first episode on October 30. It is a show that will televise what a real exorcism looks like and how it is traditionally done. Many real estate agents have hired a priest to perform an exorcism in a home where an unusual death has happened, just to make the potential buyers more comfortable with the home.
Questions:
1. What do you think about exorcisms? Do you see them as creepy and demonic ceremonies?
2. What do you think about an exorcism being televised live on national television? Would it be a show that interests you?
My thoughts- Based on the movies I've seen and the stories I've read, an exorcism sounds like a scary thing to witness or take part in. After reading this article, they don't sound too bad. I see them as just a precaution and to make the person living in that home safe. I think having an exorcism performed live sounds like a boring show to me. Especially if they aren't what you see in the movies. It would not be a show that I would watch.

Well done Cassie!
I would definitely not want to be a part of or witness an exorcism! What i have heard is that exorcisms could take up to months to fully complete it, which could make the show pretty boring.
What I usually see in movies it is really creepy, and I wouldn't want to watch it happening. I never thought it would bring good luck to people. So if it was on TV I really wouldn't want to see it.
Well from what we are taught in movies we are its something i probably would not want to be around while it happening. I don't really know what I think of them I've never been to one. I think its interesting that they would televise an exorcism. I don't think it will make home buys secure though.
I think movies make them look a lot more exciting, I think it would be pretty boring.
I often associate exorcisms with demonic forces and dark ceremonies, but I never would have guessed that they are actually considered to bring food luck to people when they buy a house in some groups. I honestly do not like anything that's creepy or scary, so watching an exorcism live on T.V. would definitely not interest me.
From what I've seen, exorcisms seem super creepy. It doesn't help that that is how all of them are portrayed in scary movies. I think it would be creepy if they had a live exorcism being televised.
I think that exorcisms are totally freaky and dangerous. I definitely see them as creepy and demonic ceremonies. I think that it is not a good idea to perform a live exorcism on television because what if someone who is obsessed with the devil or demons or something watches it then they will go try to do this somewhere and it may not be safe. This is definitely not something that interests me at all I am more of an "Animal Planet" kind of guy.
I think exorcisms are creepy, but necessary to make home buyers feel more secure.
I think that exorcisms are sort of creepy because when you see them in movies it is about pulling a demon out of a human. I think that it is a good thing to put it on TV because it lets people see what a real exorcism looks like and relieves the tension about them.
