A Concert That Won't Be Forgotten

Christopher Warner, a 10 year old boy with down syndrome, just loves Maroon 5! He draws pictures of them, listens to there music and even made a video of how much he loves them. The video quickly went viral and landed in the hands of "The Kane Show" just days before Maroon 5 was set to play in D.C.

Maroon 5 immediately arranged for backstage passes for Chris. When they finally met each other Chris became extremely shy and crawled down onto the floor. Levine handled it in the best way he could! By crawling onto the floor with Chris!

Christophers teacher Avery Stanert says "He is a normal 10 year old boy. He has friends, he goes to school, and he has favorite bands just like you and me!" "I'm just glad to see that down syndrome has gotten a lot of attention over this!"

Questions-

If you were Adam Levine how would you have handled this situation?

  • Great job!

  • I'm not sure how I would react to this because i'm not sure what it is like to have down syndrome, but i'm sure that it was frightening for him to meet new people who were so famous.

Yes I would to it because it would help many families deal with having children who have it.

    • I would have probably been a little scared to!

  • Same way, I think what he did was great and the best way to handle it. Well yes of course but in a way it create uniqueness in a way.

    • I agree! It does give our society a different feeling to it!

  • I think he handled it perfectly and it was a good idea to make himself more personable to the little boy. I would because every child and adult should have a chance to be successful and live a full and independent life.

    • I to think that every single person should be given a chance to have a good life!

  • I would do something like Adam did because the kid is shy and he just needs to open up. I would cure it because the kid's lives would be easier. Their lives are really normal but I think it would make their lives easier

    • Good point! They ARE just like you and me, but their lives are harder than our's!

  • If I were Adam Levine I would honestly have no idea what to do except ask his parents what I should do because I'm very good at handling those types of situations. Usually when kids are shy or afraid of me, I try to crack jokes or try to talk to him indirectly so they eventually want to start to talk to me. I was an extremely shy kid growing up so I can relate to being shy and or start-struck.
