Balwinder Sahni, is the property developer of one of the biggest oil company's in Dubai. He felt like his car was incomplete without the perfect license plate that would only contain one digit on it. He wanted this plate some much, at a government auction he payed 9 million dollars to have it! Although this is till less than the most ever payed for licence plate, 14 million. "It's hard, people giving comments without knowing the type of person I am," Sahni told CNN Money. He described himself as "a simple man." He says he cant go anywhere without asking for a photo, some find it cool, others dont like him because they think it is a waste of money.
1.) Would you ever consider paying a large chunk of money for something as small or useless as this, even if you were a millionaire? Explain.
2.) Why do you think it interest him to only have one number on his licence plate?
My opinion: If I was rich I would probably spend my money more loosely but that is way to much money for something like that. I think maybe he has a certain number he likes and because he has lots of money he would pay a lot for it.

Um definitely not, if I had all that money I wouldnt spend it on a license plate but I dont judge him for him doing that, if thats what he is willing to give for something like that then sure go for it. He must have just really, really wanted it and if he has money to buy it then have at it!!
No, I would find a good use for the money or save it. It's different and unique to have a different license plate than anyone else.
I would never do something like that because all your going to do is put it on your car and eventually you will forget why you have it. or why you got it. I would use the money on something different or just put it away for retirement. I think because its different and outside the box.
If I were a millionaire, I would definitely put my money into more useful things. For example, I would try to grow my money even more and then donate it to different charities or organizations. It seems to me that Sahni is very materialistic and must really like his car! I also think he wanted to be different or wanted attention, and figured that buying a 9 million dollar licence plate would create that attention!
I mean if you got the money do with it what you please, doesn't mean what he did was right and most likely should have donated it to a charity. He most likely wanted something stupid like that because he sees it as "Im rich i can do what I want."
I think that paying that much money for a licence plate is ridiculous. Even if I was a millionaire and had money to spend I would not spend it on that. There is a lot of stuff in the world that is more valuable than a one digit licence plate that someone could buy or donate to charity. That is defiantly a waste of money.
I would say the same. So much more could be done with the money than a licence plate, I would never waste that much money.
I would definitely not pay this much money for something that useless. There are things much more useful that he could spend his money on and im sure one day he will regret buying that. I think maybe he just wanted his license plate to be unique and different than everyone elses so that people will notice him.
I would not spend that much money for something like that, There are so much better things to spend money on. I think he wanted this licences plate just because he can and he has the money to buy it.
