911 Operator's mistake!

A woman and her son were trapped inside of a car in a pond in Little Rock, Arkansas. The woman made the 911 call to the Little Rock operators, but the operator didn't transfer the call to notify the police and firefighters. Eventually the police responded, but not until half an hour later! The mother died hours later and the son is in critical condition. The operator has not been charged with anything.

My thoughts are why did the operator forget to transfer the call? I mean you are working at a 911 base! Anyways I hope the boy's recovery goes quickly and smoothly and may his mother rest in peace.

what are your thoughts?

  • this is just wrong i think the 911 operator should be charged i mean its her job to notify the police about stuff like that person should definitely be fired because she made a women lose her life and put her son in the hopital

  • 911 operators are told to take every call seriously and this one should not have been an exception. The man/woman who did not transfer this call should be charged with negligence and needless to say lose their job, because after all they obviously dont take it that seriously.

  • My mom is a 911 operator for Harlan. I don't think anyone that works as a dispatcher would intentionally hurt someone. We are all humans and we all make mistakes. Not everyone is perfect, even people that work with the cops and deal with emergencies every day that they work.

  • I think that is terrible! How could she not transfer the call? I think she should be fired for what she did. In emergency situations every minute that is saved helps save the person's life.

  • I think that there should be some charges put against her. I mean, it was here fault that the mother died because she didn't transfer the call. If you are a 911 operator, and you forget to transfer the call, I think you should definitely be fired.

  • Everybone makes mistakes, some are just more critical then others. It's unfortunate and very sad that this had to happen though. I'm sure the operator feels horrible and will live with this guilt the rest of his/her life. Considering they work for a police station and want to help people I'm sure this didnt purposely happen and charges would not be necesary. But, you never know with some people these days.

  • That is ridiculous! there is no way you could forget to transfer a call like that. The operator should be fired and sued for a lot of money. I can't believe there are people out there that could forget to do something like that. There are some irresponsible people in this world.

  • This story is so sad. How could the operator forget to notify the police and firefighters? He/she should know what to do already because it is his/her job. I think this operator should get charged with something or at least fired, because this was literally a fatal mistake.

  • Oh my gosh this is horrible! i cant believe the operator forgot! how can you forget? This is sad that the mother died:( i hope the son makes it out okay though! Also why wouldnt they charge the operator with something? in my opinion they should because the mother died...she might have made it if the police got their sooner.

  • My thought is how do you forget to tranfer the call. Why hasnt the operator been charged with any Criminal charges
